Furthermore all this does is put unnecessary emphasis on female virginity- which makes those who aren't of age seem appealing. It makes a girl losing her virginity important to her for all the wrong reasons. It makes a virgin who is raped, that much more shamed. Slut shaming is so stupid. I call it sexuality shaming instead of slut shaming, semantics but words are important to me. I've seen pressure for all genders. Young boys are pressed to have sex to prove they are a man, young girls get pressed to keep their legs together to prove they are going to be worthy later. Shaming over sexuality is dangerous to people IME. I also find it just plain weird.

If a guy loses respect for me once we have had a great time together, then I lose respect for him. How can my sexuality be a bad thing when he is just as sexually involved? I have never felt bad about it, if he does, that's HIS problem; not mine!

Yah I could never buy into that "make him wait" or he'll "lose interest". Because if he loses interest after having sex with me, how much interest could he have in the first place? I'm all for waiting- if thats whats right for you- but fear of him "nailing and bailing" is just another source of this crap. You should have sex because you WANT to- not because you think he finally "deserves it" or has "stuck around long enough" or some made up rule dictated that you waited the appropriate amount of time.
