Sounds like the opening line to some bad joke, but it's actually an interesting story. And I had no idea where to put this, so if it needs moved or should be somewhere I missed, that's ok.

Anyway, Sir and I, being prior military, are members of different organizations. Anyway, for the past 2 years I've known one particular gentleman who, at first glance, you'd think was a "dirty biker". (being a biker myself, I know the difference, haha) Anyway, he was always so sweet, generous, and just a good guy. Always with a hug, and a "how are you?" to both me and my Sir. I just always thought he was the resident greeter, lol until Saturday. I was at the bar getting a drink and he was sitting there. He looked at me, (after the formalities ) and said "Princess, I have been wanting to tell you that you have a really neat collar." At first I thought he was using the term 'collar' as a general term, but realized quickly he meant exactly what he said. I told him he was the first person I'd met in that environment who actually knew what it was.

After a good chuckle, and other conversation pertaining to it all, he said "I'm really happy for both of you, and kudos to Dragon for taking on the responsibility. It's such a wonderful thing you two have, and nobody really knows how deep you are in your relationship if they don't understand it all" I agreed, and he then chuckled and said "yeah, I've been around a day or two" and winked/smiled at me. I said "you'll have to tell me the story one day" to which he replied "Oh, no I don't! " and laughed really hard.

Ah well, I just wanted to share that, and point out that you just really never know someone's story until they decide to tell you. Never in a million years would I have placed him in ANY form of the lifestyle, and now I'm really interested to know exactly what his story is! haha Maybe one day.....

Anyone ever had this happen?

Great story. At some point in time, most people, mature enough to realize that the intimacy of their relationship is intimate and private. We really only see the "in your face" stuff from young'ens and paparazzi bimbos. The fact that we have this site, and a few others, that allow us to share our perceptions and perspectives on WIITWD is a very good thing. Often we see very intimate and vulnerable things shared on here, and sometimes we get a lot of "immature" this is my kink and fuck you and your kink you will like it and respect it! but not too often... thankfully.

I love the subtle nuances of D/s, particularly the pride that you appear to have in your D/s by wearing your collar. It is a subtle invitation to see you in a different light by those that know the significance. I'm not that subtle... I have a "3-way" street sign on the front of my truck because I am too old and too cranky to mess with vanilla girls. Most of the time all the smiles and flirting turn into wide eyed awareness once they see the sign and game over... if that doesn't do it "great, bring a girl friend" does.

If I were to find myself in that situation, which I have but on a lesser level, I write down this site and the other one I frequent on a card and say go check it out.

The cool part about having friends that "know" and know how to respect D/s lends a great deal of comfort in close quarters. If you were to invite your friend over for dinner you wouldn't have to censor your behavior at all.

Again, great story, thank you for sharing.

Thanx.. And yeah, my close friends (all 3 of them) know about our D/s relationship, but don't know exactly how deep this lifestyle is. And you're absolutely right, next time we're hanging with him, or even at a bike rally, it will be much more relaxed. Being a newbie here, I'm still feeling things out, but so far, it's all good :)

I had to laugh at your story, mostly because I am normally the guy that observes the collar and says something to the person wearing it. I normally compliment the collar, and I usually get a knowing smile back. I've started some interesting conversations that way.
