Would like to know of the longest relationship you have heard of in the scene. Can it work long term?

I've heard of 20, 30, 40 years. Yes, it can definitely work long term.

Since you're posting in Ask a Mistress, are you restricting your question to female led relationships? If not, Master Robert and slave lilly locally have been together over 30 years. If so, the longest one I know of locally is about five years. Your question seems to imply that kink relationships have some extra factor that causes them to last longer or shorter than vanilla relationships. IMO, kinksters tend to be more open-minded, more socially liberal, more computer literate, and more financially affluent than vanillas - if those factors were corrected for, I assume that the relationships would last as long.

Sure a D/s relationship can last long term. Just as any type of relationship, some work out, some don't. My previous D/s relationship with my former Dom/husband was 23 years. My current relationship, Master and I are together 7 1/2 years and we're still going strong.

In my opinion it can definitely last longer because finding a person who understands your BDSM needs and is someone you would even want to spend your life with is like finding 1% of the 1%. When you find it you are not stupid enough to let it go, or complacent in the relationship. Speaking from personal experience mine is going on year 5 and we are just as in love as the day we met! It is a perfect relationship and we are so happy we pinch ourselves every day! In the Houston community there are several couples who have lasted a long while but there are those that collar a new person once a month too so it just depends. But as I always tell people. If you don't get out there and join your community in person you are not going to find real people and real events and I am always happy to help you find the events in your own neighborhood. Just ask.

We've been together for 10 years. Some people we met way back when are still together, but we have never asked how long they were together so I can only say they are 10+ years.

My wife and I have been together 27yrs and my folks, who have a very traditional D/s dynamic have been together 52yrs. So yeah, I'd say long term is definitely possible

Just ask. Honestly I have heard such horror stories about events, I'm an introvert. I'm willing to work with what I've got but thanks for helping other kinksters maneuver their way around. I don't see myself attending an event in pursuit of a relationship but that might change. I don't have a "great" impression of the "we know best" crowd.

Most of the ones I know haven't lasted long... most vanilla relationships in know haven't lasted long either though.. except my great grandmother, they were married 50 years, she jokes that she forced the doctor to keep him alive for their anniversary trip then pulled the plug. He died a week after the trip.... she is now 90. Yeah im the longest bdsm relationship I know of... this one just reached it's 2 year mark since being collared. Most I've seen don't last more than a couple months if they are exclusive at all.... I did know a couple that had been with each other 7 years but they were pretty pretty much just roommates didn't touch each other just had sex with other people so not sure that counts. And I agree with goddessmanko about events... I don't like the energy at any of the events I've been to and I'm really extroverted.

I know a femdom couple that had there 10 or 20th year anniversary (it was some big round number and they were nearing their 40s or 50s so could have been either) recollaring at a party I was at. They were also married. I've known a few other long-term relationships in the 5+ years. Probably a few that were over 10 that I just never made note of.

Hello. My first post on here. Delighted to find a place where I can 'talk' to folk with the same mind set. My darling Mistress wife and I (slave husband) have been together for 43 years. I tend to Her needs above my own. She rules me body, mind and soul. I am her property and it is a lifetime ownership. And yes, we havechildren, grown now and grandchildren who we adore. So this life you discuss is sustainable. It requires mutual love and complete trust. I relinquish all power to my the Mistress and submit totally to her demands. And no, we occasionally argue and disagree but I stop as soon as She issues control. Smiling toY/you all.

My relationships with my slaves have lasted decades. I have owned dawn for 21 years and sandi has been mine 17 years. While I know a few couples that have over 30 years together mine is the longest polygamous relationship that I know.
