Anybody following the cricket world cup? Who are you supporting this time round?

I was initially in favor of SA and NZ. I had the feeling that the Indian team would mess up in their bowling. SA has been average so far, India spectacularly outstanding. I am still standing by NZ though :)

Australia is giving a hard time to SL in the meantime today :)

I didn't know the little bugs had such a following ... . . .

Pffftttt.... on the cricket pun.

I don't follow cricket but but have fond memories of the fellow I met in the China Fleet Club that thought it would be hilarious to drag a Yank Sailor out to cricket practice with him and let him bumble through a steep learning curve on the game.
Probably from reading so many older novels; I tend to associate cricket and croquet with a genteel Sunday afternoon diversion.

Yes, been watching it.

As England are out, I'll be cheering on the West Indies as been over there when England have toured and what a place.

Anyone looking for a good value bet try Pakistan. Longish odds so will earn a decent return, and unplayable on their day - longish odds because which Pakistan turn up is anyone's guess.

true that, Pakistan used to be a great team in the 90s. now they are just plain unrealiable.

They've always been hit and miss, but they've always had the quality to take a game away from you within 5 overs. Mind you, they're capable of losing a game in that period too.

It's a pretty open contest, as India, the Aussies, and South Africa are evenly matched on flat wickets with not many much cloud to make the ball swing around.

West Indies and New Zealand outside bets as also used to playing on flat wickets in those conditions, but don't quite have the quality of the other three mentioned.

See the Aussies won it. Christ, the worst possible result for an Englishman. Was really hoping New Zealand would clatter 'em.
