• In April, physicians who treat Medicare patients face a drastic cut in pay.

• In May, the Highway Trust Fund runs dry.

• In June, the charter for the federal Export-Import Bank ceases to exist.

• Then in October, across-the-board spending cuts return, the government runs out of money — and the Treasury bumps up against its borrowing limit.

All will require congressional action, and while many of these measures used to be pushed through in an almost unthinking bipartisan ritual, there is no such thing as simple in Congress anymore.

“We really don’t have 218 votes to determine a bathroom break over here on our side,” said Representative Charlie Dent, a Pennsylvania Republican. “So how are we going to get 218 votes on transportation, or trade, or whatever the issue? We might as well face the political reality of our circumstances and then act accordingly.”

The Republican leadership team, he added, “has not done a good job of managing expectations. There are too many folks with unrealistic expectations.”

Such budget issues are no issue for Dems who have absolutely no qualms with spending literally trillions that we dont have

And I see that the official propaganda organ of the Democrat Party failed to mention (somehow) that the "drastic cut in pay" for physicians who treat Medicare patients is due 100% to the Obamacare law

In his defense he didn't really mention anything. He just copied a link and pasted some of what it said in his op. I guess he is waiting for someone to tell him how he is supposed to think on the matter.

The question is, what will Congress accomplish? The Republicans have control of it. What will happen with: highway funding, debt ceiling, etc.

Status: offline 		you mean blaming fuckups, like voting 56 times to repeal the ACA, backing down on Homeland security funding with an immigration bill attached, suing the president and then giving up?Not being able to overrule a veto on Keystone? shutting down government, more than once and threatening to do it again....unable to get rid of the filibuster, Sequestration and important stuff like the repubs have blamed everyone but themselves for? ?

A "Doc Fix" Bill will, once again, be passed, in bipartisan fashion, to, once again, defer full implementation of a President Clinton era law.

Hopefully, the GOP will accurately represent their constituents and do the job they were elected to do, regardless of what the opposition whines about...

Status: offline 		Regardless of which party is in the majority, Congress hasn't accomplished much notable for Obama's entire term. Personally, I'm for firing the whole useless bunch of middle management that they are. Give those parasites a taste of "downsizing" and see how much they like it.

Did Ted Cruz run on 'Shutting down the Federal Government to remove the ACA'?

I want Democrats....AND....Republicans to accurately represent their constituents. Its funny that you only want Democrats to do this, but not Republicans. Why is that? Is it 'OK" for Republicans not to do this?

My Senator is doing a damn good job! She's beautiful, intelligent, and fierce. Most likely be on the Democratic nomination ticket with Hillary.....

Your expecting alot, if you think the Republican Party can do something remotely useful to the American people in the tiny amount of time they have left before the next election.

The final six months before the election, nothing will get done. All of them (including the Democrats) will be shy of 'rocking the boat' of their re-election campaigns. In this next election, more Republican seats are up for grabs than Democrat. Two months have already been burned by their inaction on anything. And, Congress meets less than 150 days of each year. Put it all together and they have less than six to eight months to do something useful. Or give citizens a reason to re-elect them.

Sorry. I'm not in Cruz's District. I can't tell you what he ran on, but "removing Obamacare" doesn't seem out of the question.

Perhaps reading isn't your forte. Just in case, I bolded the pertinent information from a previous post of mine. Note the use of the word "too," used when referring to my wanting the Democrats to accurately represent their constituents. It's a synonym for "also," meaning that I want Republicans to accurately represent their constituents (which I had previously stated as a hope of mine), and also I want Democrats to accurately represent their constituents.
