Someone said a munch, I love your background in your pic, it shows you are tasteful in your surroundings. Meet someone at a munch like someone else said and be selective of those who message you. Check out "Funny messages from the other side" if you want a good laugh in the meantime. The internet is and always has been a free-for-all. Paid sites do filter to some degree but even then you need to REALLY pick and choose and be EXTREMELY picky, it's OK to be that way.

Im specifically talking about the "dating" part, as Im here not looking for anyone....so i have no use for it. Even if I were , I wouldnt pay for it. But....different strokes for different folks:)

Touche! And lmao mnottertail and littleladybug!

RockaRolla -> RE: Paid membership for Collarspace.com (3/12/2015 9:32:53 AM)

I have another idea.

If you're tired of "fakes" on a free site, and think a paid site will weed them out, move to a paid site and subscribe.
There are plenty that exist.

If you like the convenience of setting up a profile for free and think you should be exempt from screening people yourself, get a reality check.

There is already been a discussion ( http://www.collarchat.com/m_91092/tm.htm ) about to make this wonderfull website a paid website.

It is a decent site for a free site. It could be brought into the 21st century, but that is a topic for another day.

Hopefully the owner of this website would also reply.

Good luck with that.

I'm boring of all the people who write to me and they are no serious but mostly I think they are fakers.

*sigh* Fakers? On the Internet?[sm=alarm.gif] [sm=banghead.gif]

Examples: After receiving a e-mail, there profile could be not found.
To this people I would say: GET A LIFE !

It happens. People getting a life that is.

Another example: when I reply that I would meet them with a webcam and chat on Skype (magic word!) then they never reply.

Le gasp.

Therefore I'm sure that are Here more fakers then serious people.

Honestly, there is no way to be certain of your claim unless you have written to everyone on this site.

I got an idea to solve this problem.

If You wanted to write the first letter to someone that it cost $ 10, only for the first e-mail.
Then after the first e-mail, you can reply and have contact so much that you wanted without any payment with this member.

I would advice that we pay $ 30 in advance for 3 e-mails and that you can connect with 3 different members ( 10 $ each for the first e-mail )

This is my idea that solve the problem with fakers.

How do members and the owner about this idea?

So let me get this straight, you believe that charging $10 for each initial contact email will solve this problem? Did you ever think about the fact that scammers make more than that by accident and could afford to pay that and more? Besides that, I talk to a good many members behind the scenes... and there is no way in fucking hell I would pay $10 to send an email.... ever... ever... ever. Ever.

Ever.

Ever.

Mistress Constancia

I have no doubt that you are sincere, and perhaps your heart is even in the right place, but your idea is not going to make a difference. This site goes to a pay scheme, there will be a mass exodus of folks who aren't fake and it will become a ghost town around here. Besides, if they WOULD begin to charge, that would mean that they would have to change a lot of things, like the servers, which are usually powered by starving hamsters. I know that $10 per initial email could buy a lot of hamster food, and perhaps even more little metal wheels for them to run in, but do you really care about their working conditions? Additionally, if they improve the servers, all those hamsters would hit unemployment and, I don't know about you, but there is nothing more unattractive than an out of work rodent.

Think about it.

ResidentSadist -> RE: Paid membership for Collarspace.com (3/12/2015 9:52:27 AM)

They could keep all the features we already have and have a paid membership with premium bonuses on the other side... like listing your Pro Domme or escort business with links and phone numbers. It wouldn't change this side at all and the 750+ pros that already log in daily to conduct their business would simply be paying for a commercial listing like an advertizing fee. . . as it is done on all the other escort sites. It would increase revenue by over $29,000.00 if they captured the already thriving market going at CollarSpace. They could afford to pay Mods and upgrade this software. It would be a good thing.

stef -> RE: Paid membership for Collarspace.com (3/12/2015 10:40:26 AM)

Forgetting the inane email pricing plan proposed by the OP; I think a paid membership option would have been a great idea when the site was thriving. However, now that it's circling the drain, it's too late to do much good.

crumpets -> RE: Paid membership for Collarspace.com (3/12/2015 2:36:19 PM)

Collarspace is a pay site.
The advertisers, I presume, pay.
We are the product.

And yet one more to whine and bitch and complain about fakes.

Erm......any forum site and any dating site that is free or paid membership always has scammers and fakes. If you think this site is any different then maybe you need to rethink this.

TransFat -> RE: Paid membership for Collarspace.com (3/12/2015 6:36:49 PM)

Why on Earth would I pay to witness this echo chamber when I can get it for free? Madness I tell ya!

Lucylastic -> RE: Paid membership for Collarspace.com (3/12/2015 6:39:03 PM)

and even be part of it!!! weeeeeeeee

tiggerspoohbear -> RE: Paid membership for Collarspace.com (3/12/2015 11:26:50 PM)

Not gonna pay, no way no how nuh uh. I'm here for the forums, I met my Man here, I send mail to people I consider friend from this side.

Now this $10 you go on about, sent as the first msg. If the one who replies to you has never used CMail, do they also have to pay that fee? That'll be easy enough (I guess) to set up, but you have to hire people to do the set up. And if the system needs upgrading, that's real actual money to spend.

Now as far as I know, way back when, everyone that worked on the site was a volunteer. NOT PAID. SOFTWARE & SYSTEMS UPGRADES paid, cash moolah, hard currency. It won't be your measly $10 per initial CMail then, it'll be a lot more expensive. But a wise owner also doesn't want to lose most of his remaining database. Like the ones who've been here since the beginning & weathered all the bullcaca.

AlabamaPrincess -> RE: Paid membership for Collarspace.com (3/13/2015 5:48:09 AM)

Just a quick 2 cents for the OP.....I used to own a forum that had absolutely NOTHING to do with dating, sex, relationships, etc. It was about gardening, and the like. There were not only a ton of fakes there, but fakes looking for a hook-up. The young girls "looking for a handsome farmer" or men thinking they want that down home girl to do things for them while they lounged around watching them garden, farm, etc.

My point is, it doesn't matter the TYPE of forum, there is and always will be fake folks looking for an easy out, easy money, easy prey, or just fishing for anything to help their cause. This site is not unique in that regard.

MariaB -> RE: Paid membership for Collarspace.com (3/13/2015 6:43:29 AM)

I enjoy this site much more now than when it was CM but I wouldn't pay to use it. I would very probably pay a voluntary contribution but if I was forced to pay I would just find other sites that were free.

sexyred1 -> RE: Paid membership for Collarspace.com (3/13/2015 1:01:29 PM)

I wouldn't pay.

I am serious about finding someone but the likelihood of them being on the profile side is slim to none.

I wouldn't pay for the forums either.

All sites, paid or free have crap people online.

You need to discern this for yourself and have a thicker skin about this.

Shhhhhhh red...you're being sensible again.

SweetlySadistic1 -> RE: Paid membership for Collarspace.com (3/13/2015 2:27:35 PM)

If this turns into a pay site, the door won't hit me where the good lord split me. In otherwords, it won't hit my ass on the way out. There are already plenty of pay BDSM sites out there and, if I wanted to pay, I'd be on one or more of them already but I'm not.

^ HI AND WELCOME BACK!!!
You haven't been around in a good while beautiful!

ThatDaveGuy69 -> RE: Paid membership for Collarspace.com (3/13/2015 7:13:29 PM)

I couldn't stand this place if it were a paid site.

But I know of a few ways to keep it "free" and really clean house:

1 E-mail verify every new account. It won't stop most of the crap but it would be a start.
2 New accounts can't send, receive, or be seen for 24 hours after verification.
3 Visually inspect every new profile for TOS compliance.
4 Accounts must remain active for 72 hours after verification.
5 No more hidden profile crap - if you're going to create an account here, have the balls to have it viewed.
6 Remove "Delete Unread" - if you don't like the messages you get from any given user then block that account.
7 No more "fin domes" - we all know it's bullshit so let's remove it like the cancer it is.
8 Delete accounts with no activity for 6 months - if you haven't stopped by in that time you're no longer interested.
9 Get rid of the Political discussions - no one here really know jack about it anyway and every "discussion" quickly devolves into petty bitchiness and/or rants about semantics.

Just curious, but why do you think blocking is preferable to deleting unread when for some blocking only encourages the making of an additional profile?

TNDommeK -> RE: Paid membership for Collarspace.com (3/14/2015 1:13:56 AM)

There ain't no damn way I'm payin for the crap that goes on the other side!! That's why I stay over here.
