I am splitting this off from my Hillary Clinton thread because it appears that the e-mail retention of executive types within the government are not being appropriately retained. I wonder how far back this goes. To Rear Admiral Grace Hopper maybe? I don't know. Especially in the most transparent administration in history, I wonder where they all went. I doubt we will ever really know.

" I doubt we will ever really know."

Thats the whole point, its our government. We pay for it, the records are ours. But they hide the facts, they are blatant about it and the partisan leftists see no issues because its their people who are doing it.

As I pointed out, with credible citation, it is clearly and far and away the partisan rightists that have had the stranglehold of goons and thugs on that bit of treachery.

Per the citation, please explain how it is the Republican's fault that the Administration keeps bad records. I surely don't understand what you are even attempting to say

You read it and you stated it (two posts) W loses some 7 million emails one time, and has the rest locked up for 50 years.

You often don't understand what people say, your intellect does not allow that. You are selectively myopic in your reality.

It is a question of deception or incompetence, not party.
It is too late to stop those who have left office, so we need to focus on the current one.

The problem is, how do we fix it? Is there truely a cure?

I know that there were times when I would have to do something on a weekend or holiday or evening/night when I wasn't at my desk, and I would take care of the issue and email whomever called me, usually my boss, but didn't always remember to cc my gov e-mail. Since it was personal e-mail to personal e-mail that I was communicating with on official business, it should have been done every time. I did always print those e-mails and forwarded them with my official report on whatever the issue was, but not sure my boss/whomever did. Or any other official in the system.

I could have swore former President George W. Bush and his administration told the American people that Iraq not only had weapons of mass destruction, but had....huge stockpiles. After we invaded, and looked around, the amount of stockpiles was far below what was told to us by the administration. Now either that administration...LIED....to the American people, or just had bad records. Since email....DID....exist back then too!

Did Hillary's emails get us into a bloody war that got US Soldiers wounded and killed? Likewise, the whole thing with Hillary is a political attacked, NOT, a decent criminal investigation. Republicans do not have anything decent to offer the American people in the next election. Best to try to cut down their opposition whom actually can do stuff for them, right?

Not one conservative can seem to 'make' a case that this has....NOTHING....to do with the 2016 election. Where were all the conservatives when those seventeen 'Benghazi' like attacks took place on Bush's watch? There is this word in the English language: CREDIBILITY. What is the credibility of the Republican/Tea Party? The organization that held the nation hostage and demanded the removal of the ACA or else the US Government was going to shut down?

Likewise, since we are attacking potential 2016 candidates for the White House, shouldn't the current administration, through the DOJ arrest all 47 Senators and those GOP 2016 candidates whom signed a letter, effectively declaring themselves illegal at best and traitorous at worst? According to 'conservative thought', they should all be dragged in leg irons, interrogated, and have everything associated to them studied fully. THEN (because like Hillary) since they are guilty first and innocent second, have to prove their innocence, which is impossible (like Hillary to conservatives). You forget that Democrats can play that game with much more devastating effects.

An is your job as 'task demanding' and 'detail oriented' as a Secretary of State to the President of the United States?

Could you handle that sort of responsibility and power?

One more time, all those forty seven senators did was remind both the Iranians and Obama that any deal made with Obama and not ratified by the senate was not legally binding, John Kerry said the same thing, shouldn't he be arrested along with them?

Republicans will not pass such a bill. Not this close to a general election. They'll do it after...IF....their party loses the White House. Why would they want to shoot themselves in the foot? They are even less noted for their honesty than Democrats. Why should the American people more proof of that...BEFORE....the election? Particularly when many more Republican/Tea Party seats are up for re-election?

No, they have nothing to gain from what your suggesting.

http://www2.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/NSAEBB/NSAEBB505/

I don't see it as a partisian issue. Neither do I see it as an administration by administration issue. I see it as a national issue that has gone on for a long time. I believe the citation should help bear this out since GW is politics neutral I believe

From the original citation then there is this quote

State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said it would be incorrect to call the emails destroyed since some might be retrievable through technology. But she acknowledged that regular archiving of the work email in-boxes of senior officials besides the secretary did not begin until “February of this year.”

Congress should be exempt, they are not government employees per se.

They dont directly control our lives either, or make life-and-death decisions etc on the go as various executive branch people do

They pass laws, and the laws they pass are open to public scrutiny, thats enough. They themselves had ought to be free to discuss their thoughts privately and frankly with whoever they please without worrying about hate groups doing the things they do

They are not required to be "doing it" as you say

And its the typical leftist mantra, there are no rules or laws for leftist Dear Leaders if one example can be found anywhere of someone who can be considered conservative doing something even remotely similar one time through all of history

Intellectual honesty isnt exactly a hallmark of the left

Congressmen are government employees. Their term of employment is determined by the people not the civil service system, however their pay check is signed by the Treasury.
