Visiting the lovely country of Turkey next week - Istanbul, Antalya and Cappadocia over 7 days. Anything other than the regular touristy stuff you would like to suggest thats worth investing time on?

Turkish Delight, the real stuff, not the tourist crap. I want loads of it when you come back. Leave every thing you are taking with you behind, and fill your case for me.
that is all.
thanks, have a great time
are you back yet?

If it were me, I'd be trying to explore Sephardic Jewish culture there.

A friend who traveled to Turkey a lot for business talks about a marvelous dish known simply as "He Liked It!" Story goes, a concubine made it for the emperor/sultan, and, well, he liked it.

I've no idea if you have any interest in religion, but Cappadocia was an important site in Christian history. People still pass on sayings and insights from the desert fathers (abbas) and mothers (ammas).

By happy coincidence, a Facebook buddy is in Istanbul at the moment. He's posted gorgeous pictures from the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace (home of the Ottoman sultans), and Mosaic Museum.
