Today was a beautiful day! Lovely all around. The joy was in opening windows at work and at home, seeing my cat fully enjoying the windowsill breeze, and being able to take a nice long drive this morning to run an errand for work.

Ah, and my joy was also in the police officer not giving me a ticket when he pulled me over for speeding just a very little bit. Huge amounts of joy.

We had the great fortune yesterday to be under the one opening in the clouds in Western Washington, and went to see the tulip fields.

As many times as I've seen them, I'm just still amazed.

Started off as a shitty day...had to take my furry baby to the vets, she has sarcoma in her front left leg, and today she had to go in for xrays and needle aspiration
done on her lymph nodes to see if it has metastisized, leaving her at the vets was one of the hardest thing I have ever done, and im not exactly shy of doing upsetting stuff. But this dog has my heart and soul.
I know the realities, but emotional about her, yes, considerably.
We know she has to have her leg amputated this week, but waiting to find out if it has spread was horrible.
Luckily, it turned out her xrays are clear of "spread" but we have to wait for the results of her lymph nodes to come back before we set a date for amputation.
While we were waiting to go pick her up we sat out in the garden, bird and squirrel watching. We have housemartins back, two sets of robins, and these lil beauties
(below)
We have had nesting mourning doves most of the time we have lived her(25 years) but a a couple of years ago, the poppa bird died after a quick fight with a neighbours cat, but this year....we have 2 new ones shown up...
It brightened my day no end.

its the lil things in life yanno?
:)

Ah, Lucylastic, I'm so sorry to hear about your furbaby.

Yesterday was rough for me, business-wise. I did get in my next run in my couch-to-5k program, and almost made it all the way through (15 of 16 minutes or running), so I was proud of myself for that. I also had another walk in the evening, so I did a total of 6 miles yesterday. AND did my stretching. That made me feel pretty damn good about myself.

*smiles*

Yeah, I've stayed fit-ish for years, but haven't run much at all since I was 23 and had pneumonia. Figured it was time I got back on that horse.

It sucks. LOL! But I'm doing it. *smiles* I'll cheer you on.
