This is actually not true in all cases. I know many alpha submissive types that are submissive to their dominant all of the time. Of course YOU may be submissive only in the bedroom.

I find the alpha submissives have the same qualities in their personality as other alphas in their day-to-day life. They may be aggressive, driven, and leaders in work or social events.
These types of submissive often have a hard time finding dominants who are strong and stable enough to lead them, while not being intimidated by their nature. Not because they cannot submit or are bratty, that is another thing altogether, but because they require a dominant who has the level of alpha qualities they have, at the very least, to fully trust, respect and submit.
So, if you were to look at dominance as a 1-100 point scale, an alpha submissive may be an 85, higher than many lifestyle doms, and seeking an 86 or better to partner with, and relax into their submission.
