Its not gang initiation, its the fairly normal human desire to poke the new thing to see if it bites. :) And then decide whether or not it is a nice bitey thing, or you need to call in the extermination crew...
I am fairly new.
People here like a good debate. Its rarely meant to be taken personally from what I can see, and if you just smile and debate right back at them you soon find yourself enjoying the banter and getting to know people a bit better.
To the OP:
Give people a chance to get to know you, they might respond to you better.
If you expect to be welcomed with open arms by complete strangers just for showing your face... its not going to happen.
Just like in real life, you need to talk to everyone, find the ones you get on with, cultivate a few friendships... and see what happens.
Finding a partner online is NOT like ordering a pizza.
You don't order what you want and then it turns up fresh and ready to eat.
They are people. They need to get to know you properly and decide whether or not they like you, but i imagine if you keep leaving and deleting your profile that won't be possible.
