I am also halfway expecting someone to come along and explain why this is a great idea.

This thread itself being an example, perhaps. Also, I must admit that my first thought about Clinton's speech was that she herself can't have been taking it seriously. I was watching the five on fox when they were discussing this, and dana perino, who is normally very straight laced, said "because nothing screams fun like Hillary Clinton." greg gutfeld made the point of saying there already are "fun camps" for adults---they are called cruises.

Dear oh dear Peon, I am surprised that a sharp operator like you has failed to join the dots. Hilary sent a secret email via her personal server to the Al Quada camp in Benghazi suggesting they could all do with a bit more fun in their lives. They responded by burning down the US Embassy and slaughtering whatever Americans they found there. (No sense of humour those AQ types have they?) So obvious isn't it? The only remaining question is: Will the smoking gun be found in Whitewater? (Any resemblance to a witch hunt by ultra paranoid looney rightwingers is purely coincidental.)

engaging in sarcastic hyperbole doesn't change the idea that what Hillary Clinton did as concerns her having a private email server, destroying emails, and deciding herself what documents were private and what were public, as being a bad, if not illegal thing.

I rather suspect that nothing will ever change your absolute conviction that Hilary did something or other wrong. Just as you were convinced about Whitewater, Benghazi and all the other vendettas the US Right has pursued against the Clintons. Forgive me for yawning but I don't see the outcome of this latest fishing expedition being any different or any more consequential than any of the previous resounding failures ie. a colossal waste of public time and money.

Unless I missread it, the op was also done as light hearted amusement. But apparently while it was ok to laugh at crap Sarah said, it's not ok to laugh at Hillary. Should be an interesting run. I wonder if pig wearing lipstick cracks will be scorned as well. That was a really popular one.

FR As I recall, summer camp was a time for all kinds of hijinks and antics and mischief-making. Some of the camp counselors could be real jerks, but some kids found ways of getting back at them. Nothing too severe; it was all good fun. Although it might have been inconvenient for someone to find that there's a frog in their bed.
