Signatures can be way too annoying. - 3/28/2015 5:07:43 PM

I'm dyslexic, so I don't need much to throw me off track. I'll be reading a post, then there's something about hearing with both eyes,(?) and feeling the blue mist of the Organto(?), then there's long passages of some kind of poem. And that's followed by those who aren't, but could be, if they weren't(?)
Then it dawns on me that I've been reading somebody's "signature" for the last twenty minutes. Maybe it's just me (and that's a distinct possibility), but I have a hard time finding a reply in the midst of voluminous signatures. The signatures may have dear and great meaning to their owners, but we may not understand that. They are all mixed in with the reply. If there was a way to differentiate the reply from the signature, that might help.

I think there's a line just above where the signature starts.

(Look below.)

*doesn't care about her long signature* haha.

Also...they have character limits- so I'm not sure what exactly you're talking about...

Hi, Kaliko;
I need something more than a little line. Like I said I'm dyslexic. Wouldn't hurt if they were in color?

Do you mean to tell me that being dyslexic prevents you from seeing the line above the signature line?

I would suggest you email support with that suggestion.

However, some of us elder types find black on white to be easier on the eyes. So how to you decide if signatures should be in color for dyslexics vs being in black for people with less than perfect vision?

I wouldn't object to the line separating the post from the sig being in bold though.

Signatures almost never get captured with a quote unless someone screws up the close quote command (/quote) with brackets, instead of parenthesis.

I could give examples but that would just aggravate the very thing you're complaining about.

As others have said; there's also a line, literally, delineating the person's post from their signature. I've used colored font for about eight years so mine should be fairly easy to work out.

Signatures can only be so many characters. You can check this by trying to add a signature line from your 'My Profile' at the top right of the message board. Type and keep typing and it won't allow you to post more than a set number of characters.

I have never seen a signature mixed with a quote or post, as the line has always been there.

I suppose I could be wrong, but this is how it has always been for me when adding a signature.

Oh, you moved the quote to include it?

Nope. As I said in my first post: if you remove the closing quote tag (it looks like this (/quote) only with brackets, instead of parenthesis), your signature will be included in the quote box.

Remember when I typed that long thing out for you and explained that most commands have to be closed, as well as opened? The whole "earmuffs" thing?

Try [/quote] with rectangular brackets rather than parentheses.
