I think it's telling that some of these charges have been laying dormant for years but suddenly came to the fore when Menendez (whom I knew, when I was in NJ) stopped tonguing Obummer's guche. Not that the current failure-in-chief would ever let one of his federal departments/bureaus target people, illegally ... Michael

Dont know the guy to well to say whether he might be guilty of this or that. Just because one is a politician, doesnt automatically mean they are corrupted. There are some good people in Congress. They are just in the minority right now. But like in any criminal case, he's innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

As with all politicians who are found guilty of a crime, I hope they get whatever sentence is typical and appropriate for the crime committed (which would include the US Representative from Illinois, if he's found guilty of a crime).

I don't understand these guys. All of the money they make. Can't throw a dead cat without hitting a publisher that will do their memoirs. Plus, with all of the money they can make on the side. I am thinking they feel entitled like so many of the rich (or at least richer) and privileged.

I would think that you will find many more cases to be particular about in the Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush and Bush administrations, but even legislators do that, and there is nothing terribly illegal about that, in and of itself.
