I just want to state a personal observation/opinion and get your feedback. When I was in college and then the military, I met a lot of asshole men. Lots of aggression and they get what they want at the expense of others. When we go to several BDSM clubs the men "act tough" as if they are superior. Women always seem to be nicer about things and had more understanding about life. Maybe because they are the ones who bear children. Also, there are a lot more men incarcerated then women.

Dude, that's because you're naive. Women are every bit as bad as men. Don't kid yourself. The incarceration rate has more to do with the bias toward protecting women which is prevalent in societal attitudes and legal statutes.

Women are less openly aggressive. This is not the same as being nicer though. They lend themselves more to spiteful nastiness. That said there are many wonderful non-aggressive men and lovely not spiteful ladies. Its all about choosing wisely who you spend your time with.

Wow . . . I totally disagree. In the hetro BDSM world, female Dommes are typically far more brutal, unforgiving and viscous than their male counterparts doing the same Dom job. I sure don't think of them as being the nicer sex. You have to delve into the old school gay male Masters and S&M tops to rival that brutality. I am not sure where you were headed with this testosterone allergic thread. I see you are from Phoenix, Arizona. Are the clubs there really full of tough male domly types? In most other major cities, gay sub-male is the predominate slice of the census in the BDSM world. Did you really mean to imply that: College and military academy students are assholes? Aggression is a bad thing? The the majority of men in BDSM clubs aren't submissives, they're actually tough domly types? Women are nicer and more understanding about life?

Nonsense. Such an obsession lately with distinctions of all kinds based on gender. Lazy, or simple-minded. Some women are nicer than men. Some men are nicer than women. In reality, some humans are nicer, more aggressive, sneakier, more manipulative, whatever, than other humans.

I think it has a lot to do with the places mentioned.... the military is notorious for having low opinions of women. To give one example, a friend of mine while overseas went to see the camp doctor to see if he could get something to help him sleep, they had given him stuff to keep him awake because as a cook you have to be up extra early and down extra late and as a result he hadn't slept in days. They asked him when was the last time he had sex. And he answered bewildered "not since I got here obviously" and they told him they would arrange for one of his female cohorts to work the same duty shift as him in a secured area. He yelled that he didn't like what they were insinuating and stormed out. But that attitude carries over for many soldiers, that women are just there to meet your needs. Personally I know a lot more bitchy women than men... but in every case that's because they aren't getting laid, which is one of the oldest stereotypes in the book but it does seem to have its effects. If you ask men who have been in prison "why?" They say the equivalent of "the man screwed me" you ask women who have been in prison they say "my man screwed me" I think men in some areas are trained to be assholes, those assholes make the women around them bitches, those bitches go out and find nice guys the opposite of the last, those nice guys become sadists, those sadists train their sons to treat women like shit and the whole cycle continues.... but it's also just as easy to turn around by not being a dick. Once someone makes the first move and starts being nice, if they can keep it up without faltering people around them soon follow.

Your experiences may be the result of the environments you were and/or the vibe you were giving off yourself. I've never been in the military and have only been to BDSM clubs a couple of times (but I can't say I found men acting tough or superior). Generally, I find most people are pretty nice if you approach them in an open, pleasant way with no agenda. Can't say that I found women to be any more or less nice than men, as a sweeping generalization.
