alright now...let's get down to the nitty-gritty regardning "first contacts" with others on CM.

this forum is set up in hopes of answering the age-old question of just what to write to someone, be they Dominant or submissive, male or female, and what each of us would like to read in our "in box".

what would get your attention from those whom may wish to write to you in order to initiate a dialog with you.

let's post the positive side of the coin here. not what we don't want to read, that's been done to death. instead, let's try and create a positive thread here.

thank you all in advance for your participation.

  • Write more than a one liner
  • Tell me a bit about who you are not just your kink
  • Explain (after reading my profile) how you feel you can fit in my life
  • Explain any issues you may have
  • Use correct spelling and grammer...I can deal with the occasional typo but I do not like continual misspellings
  • If your email is long, use paragraphs
  • Be polite
  • Ask questions

I think for me.. it's sincerity.. that is what I look for.  It doesn't have to be your life story...just tell me something about yourself..why you wrote me..something like that.  Showing your personality is a plus...big plus.  Be open, honest, and polite..that is all I ask.

If they comment on my profile.  I know they have read it and cared enough to think it through.  It has to be be more than a comment on my picture.

How about something totally off the wall and original?  I will usually respond to something I didnt expect to see in an email. Also.. I have three pics on my profile.. the first two are "glamour shot" type and the third is a very natural just got out of the shower (G-rated guys.. dont run to see) pic.. Try being more impressed with the natural one than the glamour shots ones.. its the look you are going to see MUCH more often and lets me know you are interested in something real.

Hello A/all,

In my experience, I tend to get more responses when I actually make some comment about the person's profile or things they have said in it.

Of course, if I dont see something which looks interesting to me in their profile, I wont be sending an email

Just me, could be wrong.

Sinergy

-- Definitely agreed. I have a long profile, I get a great deal of information out there to people, I would like the same courtesy, rather than reading countless emails of 'Nice Face'.  I mean it's great if that's all you wanted to say, but -What- is it that is nice about my face?! I tried emailing someone back after they left one of those messages, and I had a few paragraphs of writing down, put my thought into it, and sent it off.. getting back a red error message of

-- User has you blocked --

I  was quite boggled by that.

Just a few clear paragraphs, refrencing my profile and why they think we might be compatable. A little of the way THEY see things, if they see any issues needing discussed to see if they will be a problem. A little of who they are as a person. Where they are (Given I predominantly look localy) and a photo (On their profile is fine as I'll read it before I reply if there is any level of interest).

The photo isn't an absolute necessity, but I much preffer seeing the face of the person I'm 'talking' to.

Polite. respectful (But not 'falling to knees' crap, she isn't mine! keep it real) and absolutely NO TXT SPK!

I have also gotten a few one liners that I do appreciate.  They have obviously read my profile and are simply complimenting me on something.  For example, "Hi, I know you are looking for someone local but I just wanted to say you seem like a great person.  Have a great day".  Those are nice and appreciated.  I think it's all in the delivery.  You can tell when someone is sincere regardless of the content.  My preferences will likely come into play when choosing someone who is suitable to me but even those outside my preferences for an email can be lovely people.
