If you're single and the only good picture you have for your dating profile is in your wedding dress (or Tux) . . . you just might not be making a good first impression. Seriously, what's with all the wedding dresses in single and seeking profiles?

Wedding fetish?

I view them as a warning.

Their camera, webcam, and phone conveniently broke before they could finish her profile, so she's stuck with her wedding album.

Don't worry, some of them might manage to get their webcams working again if you show interest and send them money.[;)]

I got a message awhile ago from a guy whose profile talked about how shitty his marriage was but his profile picture was of a couple moving down the bridal aisle in their wedding finery. Of course the bride was crawling ...

Interesting. Did he give specifics about his marriage? Did the wife stop being a "good sub" or did he just want some strange?

Of course, there is the possibility that the picture wasn't actually of them.

I wore a tux to my prom, my best friend's wedding and my own. Never again.

Maybe he wanted to post the only existing photo of him in a tux? A lot of guys don't like to don the monkey suit.

there's no fear of anyone ever seeing a photo of me in a wedding dress. nope, not doing it. not ever.

I can not stand seeing people looking for someone whilst having photos of themselves with a person of the opposite sex with them. If you are claiming to be single, get rid of your past first. that goes along with your tux, and wedding dress photos.

Sweet Jesus, are there really female profiles out there with photos of them in wedding dresses? I think that would have about the same effect on male readers as cock pictures would have on female readers.

Wow. This site *really* needs a 'Profiles for Beginners' sticky.

ResidentSadist -> RE: -=If you're single and the only good picture . . . =- (4/27/2015 9:06:57 AM)

OK... how about a selfie while plucking chin hairs with tweezers? Is that for putting your best foot forward or what? I mean, it's nice to know you groom yourself, but when I think selfie, plucking something isn't the first thing I would choose to post. I am waiting to see a picture of girl plucking her mustache in the mirror while wearing a wedding dress in a trailer park with 20 cats in the background.

All I'm saying, RS, is that it would only be an alarmingly half-witted female who'd hint so strongly at marriage as an urgent priority in her profile picture. I mean, god almighty, I would suggest: a) get a dictionary, b) look up the word 'subtlety' and c) look up the word 'men'.

I'd think this goes for SOs only. My boyfriend had/has some pictures of him with a female friend in his dating profile, and it was clear from captions that they were friends. Gives a good indication early on that this guy has friends of the opposite sex (In his case, most of his friends are women,) and his partner is expected to be OK with this.

Though honestly I see little difference between a picture with a female friend and a picture with a male friend. The line gets even more blurred when GLBT gets thrown in the mix. (We're both bi - does this mean we can't have pictures with anyone?)

I don't want to see some other female spread all over a guys profile when he says he's looking for a relationship. I've also had to play second fiddle to the 'she's just my platonic friend' too, and I'm also not willing to do that anymore either. friends are friends for a reason, and I have no issues with friends of any sex, but as a partner I have issues with being put second to them without even being asked if I'm ok with that.

everyone else can make their own choices of course, but that's mine [:)]

When it comes to sending pictures with friends in them, there is also an issue of consent. Does the friend or family member in your picture know that you are sending photos of them to people you meet online? If not, there is a stolen photos issue. Ironically, many people who feel uncomfortable uploading photos of them selves will upload photos taken from websites that haven't been credited. So there is some hypocrisy there.

My two cents are about those who post pictures with (I assume) their kids on this site. Seriously, that might be fine on Facebook or even plenty of fists but here too?

Was that intentional? [:D]

I don't think I've ever seen kids' pictures on the other side. I think it's against guidelines/TOU anyway. But when I was still on OKC I saw plenty of users posting pictures of their kids and people would freak out because "it just doesn't seem like a good idea." I can only imagine the panic that ensues on a site like this!

Agreed. I have a pic on my profile of me with my sub at the time, and GreedyTop. Nobody's naked, nobody's tied up, and nobody's getting beaten. I have friends.

On the other site, I have pics of myself with friends, and some of me playing with others. I do play with others, and so does my sub. It's accepted within our circles.

needlesandpins -> RE: -=If you're single and the only good picture . . . =- (5/7/2015 5:11:30 AM)

Like I said, that's cool if that is what you are in to. what isn't cool is having another woman spread open all over your profile when you state that you are looking for a monogamous relationship. I get that people have friends, but I also get that people have vanilla friends, and partners that don't have a clue what is going on too. from my own perspective; if someone used a photo with me in it, and we are not together in any way, then I'd be bloody furious.

again, personal preference.
