What's going to happen when they find out what .357 can do ? What about rifles ?

The claim is that criminals don't use rifles or revolvers.
That 9mm and .40 is good enough for police so civilians don't "need" them.
Of course the LA shootout showed that 9mms were good enough for the police.

Yes, revolvers I get it but least we forget about the .357 Sig.

LA shoot out, too bad the premise of this thread turned out to be bogus. Otherwise that would be an excellent point.

Yeah but we got us another gun thread[8D]

Even though it's not true, the shoe certainly fits.

Yep and Obama is coming for your guns too [:D]

So, tell me something I don't know.

Love the pot stirring parody news stories.
Isn't it odd that the story is sooooo believable about California politics?

They should be judged.

More worrisome is the number of 'news' outlets and people whom did not bother to check the information before assuming things. If it sounds a bit crazy or odd, that should be the first indication to re-check and verify the information.

Its sort of like TheOnion.

In order for such a ban to process through....even in California....does require a process. Its lengthy, dull, dry, and boring stuff. Yet, the NRA (and other organizations 'for' and 'against' gun control) would notify people if such a law was making its way through the process. Some how, a bill quietly wandered through the entire system, even past all the watchdog groups, and various organizations both 'for' and 'against' tighter gun control, and the politicians....to be pass into law. And that article didn't strike any of the gun folks on here as fucking odd?

Are you guys REALLY that easy to manipulate by conservative media sources? That's pathetic!

slvemike4u -> RE: California Bans .45's (4/20/2015 8:11:44 PM)

Yes they are,as this thread proves.

Any "news" story detailing evil government restricting,banning or otherwise "grabbing" their guns or ammunition is immediately given credence.

And the reason is simple,it fits in with the ideological claptrap they have been sure is inevitable [8|]

I had found a link where the New York Times had carried the story. That led credence to it. If it isn't odd and comes from California it most likely isn't true.
I find this ironic from people who actually believed that Kansas actually prohibits people on welfare from buying underwear.

slvemike4u -> RE: California Bans .45's (4/20/2015 8:32:02 PM)

Bullshit ,the story affirmed your own bias and you jumped at it.

Hell you've been sure this was going to happen sooner or later,so the story worked for you.

Like you jumped on the other one, and as I said the story was carried by a site that said it was NY Times.
A little better than your assuming that lingerie shops means all underwear.
Actually there is a difference.
After the fallacy being pointed out I have not tried to pretend the article was valid.
After the fallacy being pointed out you tried to pretend that the underwear department at Macy's was a lingerie shop.

slvemike4u -> RE: California Bans .45's (4/20/2015 8:51:17 PM)

Try again Bama...at no point during the entirety of that thread did I even thing or imply that lingerie meant all underwear.

The whole point I was making in that thread is the futility of having cashiers draw the line as to which is one and which the other,get that.......difference,imply distinction by definition two types.

Comprehension is hard for you ,eh ?

Putz really does fir ,doesn't it [:)]

In a clear attempt at an end around of the 2nd Amendment since they can't ban guns California is banning ammo.

Sure as hell sounds like you believed it was real...and valid.
SO why dont you give us the NY Times links...or wherever that you got it from....new york post or even daily news ...

Ahem.

Yes you did state that Macy's would differentiate even after someone who had shopped there pointed out that this was not the case. I think that I can be excused for "jumping on this" when the NY Time did to. Not exactly a right-wing publication. They are trying to ban lead ammo for hunters which ends up banning most hunting ammo since many of the other metals used for bullets, when used without lead are ranked as armor piercing. Stupid laws like that add credence to a story like this. Of course I guess you hold me to a higher standard than you do the Times.

slvemike4u -> RE: California Bans .45's (4/20/2015 9:21:17 PM)

You can't even get right what was going on in the other thread.

Get over yourself. If the story would have been real you would have been slobbering all over the place that it was a great idea. There are several states where this could have been a likely senerio. Anyone could have missed the clues around, I'm sure quite a few articles of that type and done the same thing.

tweakabelle -> RE: California Bans .45's (4/21/2015 1:36:13 AM)

It seems like some of resident gun-nuts are sitting on a hair trigger convinced that the eebil gubmint is just around the corner waiting to pounce on them and seize their guns in an unguarded moment.

I am not convinced that allowing such deluded clearly paranoid people access to lethal weapons is altogether a healthy or wise idea

I guess your clever post would mean we have a difference of opinion. What you call deluded and paranoid might just be diligence. I would have to think that all those Aussies who haven't yet turned in their banned semi automatics might be a little paranoid at this point. I'm sure many of them were delusional before their weapons were banned.

Its not so far fetched, yet "they" didnt all buy it...

Most leftists were believing the Associated Press / Yahoo News lie that Republicans wont let poor Kansas women buy underwear though

(Keep in mind, Associated Press / Yahoo News are supposed to be legit)

But,in fact,the story wasn't real.....though it did ensnare one of our more vocal NRA members.

In addition it's not about me "getting over myself".It's about pro gun nitwits willing,even anxious to believe that forces are at play to grab,ban or otherwise fuck with the second amendment.

Which,quite naturally,helps fuel gun sales.

Who do you see as the beneficiary of this rampant paranoia ?

Why do gun sales skyrocket after gun tragedies ?

The gun manufacturers of course,they are playing all of you gun nuts for fools....and you'all keep lining up to buy,buy ,buy.

Believe me twink...it isn't.

Not in the least,that is why this great ,exceptional country leads the civilized world in gun deaths.....by a large margin.
