That said, the Taliban are mainly Pashtuns from Afghanistan and often abide by Pashtun tribal codes rather than the Quran. This is probably a spat for recognition as the main Islamic fundemantalist group. I have no qualms over terrorists killing each other though.

I've read that it may well have lain behind the Charlie Hebdo affair, for instance - and we need to guard ourselves for what may come. At present, we don't have a situation of Islamists fighting each other on the same turf in a major way. I read recently that there's a sizeable bunch of Kurds fighting ISIS who are followers of Murray Bookchin - the Finnish-born, naturalised-American ecoanarchist ("Social Ecologist", he used to call himself - since his ideas are based on a blend of Marxism, Anarchism, and ecological thought). But how the feckenhell did it happen that a group of people in Turkey ended up being big fans of an obscure American political thinker? You can get a serious migraine thinking about such things, sometimes.
