Miseri -> RE: Educated Slaves, a new kind of slaves? (8/22/2006 8:17:28 PM)

I have a thought on this.

If the sub/slave is without worth in their eyes or the dominant's eyes, then what sort of gift are they giving the dominant? If you don't value your slave, you don't value their gift.

To quote my master today: "Why would I want someone who does not feel worthy? I want to know you are giving me something special and sacrificing for me." (paraphrased).

Incidentally, I feel VERY worthwhile, intelligent and special.

That is of course assuming you buy into the idea that submission is a gift.

Even if you dont buy into the gift deal, who would want to own something worthless?  Would you not prefer to own something that was priceless which everyone else wanted?

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbors servants (i.e slaves)

DiurnalVampire -> RE: Educated Slaves, a new kind of slaves? (8/22/2006 9:36:51 PM)

I thought that was thou shalt not covet thine neighbors ass....
Ive alwasy told subs , if yuo tell me how worthless you are, I'll probably agree.  So why would I waste my precious time trainng a worthless servant when I can go find someone worthy of my attentions?

owned1 and DiurnalVampire have clarified what I intended to say.

Well met, Owned. Possessions coveted by all are so often pretty but prideful tragedies of the commons. While having worth is a good thing, I think there is a fine line between a technical understanding of one's worth vs. egotism that expects recognition in giving of itself—and that is in fact a mindset the "gift" idea fosters so often more times than not. I find those who do not tout their worth or think so vainly of it make better servants. Come to me with humility and I shall embrace you. Expecting or demanding that I value your "gift" is the best way to incur my rejection.

To each their own, I suppose. What is worthy or worthless is completely subjective to the beholder.

First in what light does the slave feel worthless? Do slaves have any real worth ,until they are serving?  How does a slave prove his/her worth before serving? Can it be done online, over the phone,in emails.? Or does it have to be inperson? How should a slave make the best impression when meeting his Mistress for the first time. Is it a gift or the only way a slave can live to feel complete?

Just in case I gave the wrong impression, I don't really demand anything. I'm glad of whatever my master chooses to indulge me with.  I do however, feel a sense of pride that I please him.

I have only read the OP.

My pov is purely theoretical. (And perhaps stupid.)

There are natural slaves and these are highly intelligent and sensible and smart.

There are power-exchange slaves. I do not know about them.

There are subs, who are a force in their own right; they are not slaves, but serve. I have noticed some here who are impressively smart - university degree - but from my theoretical pov I expect natural slaves to be their intellectual superior.

For me, formal education is less important than the ability to give and receive love, to have good judgment, and to possess at least a modicum of ethics.

greetings

i am shock by your post do you ever read the profiles of the submissive and slaves on cm or anywhere else?

there are so many educated slaves and submisives they are more educated then you may know. it is important for me to talk with someone who is like mind as i am smart educated in many ways. also what makes you think slaves are dumb? it takes knowledge and strenght of mind to go into this lifestyle.

many are profesional and have wonderful jobs, even the slaves who stay at home learn and read so this question of yours is strange. we are not talking of stripper here (sorry ladies ) but some of you may began at 19 with no knowledge of the real smarts but not all of you no all.

it takes strenght and knowledge to go and become a slave you must know how to act in public the masters do not just want someone to screw and then can not talk in polite company, manners are learn not just placed in front of a submissive.

i want my slave to be able to read to me know different things the arts, music not just r&b but the classial things too, i am a collector of pre ww2 stamp i want to teach him many things and he must be ready to learn or i do not need or want him. so to you questions no i think most dominants want a person who can speak and learn with them. the bond is just not sex and bdsm other things will make it work too . trust and good common sense is very need !

i believe that in order to feel worth anything to anyone, a person, slave, or whatever title they don, must be worth something to themselves.  When a slave values "self" and demonstrates that ability to care for him/herself, he/she is better equipped and able to focus on the care and service of others, as it naturally resonates and shines in everything they do. A slave in this manner is often inspiring, and naturally attracts and accentuates the better qualities in and of their dominant.  A slave who has this confidence and balanced self worth, also has the wisdom to make a wiser choice in finding the best Dominant to serve, trust and obey.  It is easier to trust in another, when one trusts in themselves and in their own personal judgements and instincts.  i have also found that a slave who is nurturing to themselves, has no need to prove as much for they are content from within, and many times it is easy for them to be more connected with a deepened humility in service.  There is not as much need to feed the ego.  So when asked about how a slave proves their worth, to me it is about how a slave knows how to feel their own worth first, fo rwhen that is in place there is no need to prove, it is just there for everyone to see.
