Wow.

I would say that I am on the low end of the mommy-instinct scale. With that being said, there are biological processes that make us wimmins fat, dumb, and happy when we are pregnant and have small children. These are so we can take care of the baby or babies without going insane.

This is also why there is something called "failure to thrive" in institution babies. Unless this lady is suggesting that is also a social construct?

Women have been searching for the answer to decent affordable childcare and having to go out to work out of necessity for 40 years....and still havent got what they need.
The deconstruction is the cuts to programs that made it possible for mothers who needed it most.

I don't see anything in the article that relates to postmodernism or deconstruction. The writer clearly has no idea what these ideas mean, and his article reads like typical anti-intellectual right-wing bloviating that is designed to make us feel better about our prejudices and stupidity.

Let's imagine a different way. How would that look?

Right after WWII millions of men came home from the Pacific and Europe and needed jobs. The government used propaganda for the Harrier Nelson or June Cleaver effect. Women stay in the house and take care of men and kids. I'm stating this as fact not as part of imagining a different way.

So this era is the end of modernity and the beginning of a Post Modern era. When I was growing up, it was certainly reasonable to live on one paycheck. A high school diploma, and often less than that, bought you into a reasonable existence.

Then, the 60's implementation of Post Moderism happened in a big way. Some trillions of dollars have been confiscated from some people and transfered to others. The Great Society.

It was meant to fix all of the ills of Modernity. And it completely failed every place.

One of the prevalent tenants of Post Modernism is that as each system fails we say, well that sucks, let's do more of it because we obviously didn't do it enough. Instead of saying, well that sucks, let's try something else.

Or, as you say above, they cut funding for it is why it's failed...and then play the mom card or the race card.

What if we just didn't take trillions of dollars out of our society by government confiscation and redistribution? What would that have looked like.

I'm betting June Cleaver wouldn't have lasted long anyway. But, what if she was allowed to evolve without the government elites fucking it all up?
