Sadly another great talent has fallen silent.....B(lues) B(oy) King died Thursday mostly from complications of type 2 diabetes. In his life is reported that he played more than 15,000 shows on stages all over the world.

regrettably The Thrill Is Gone

RIP

His music has seen me thru some of the best AND worst times of my life.
Thanks Mr King....Respect.

As a young musician during the 70s in Detroit and New Orleans, I saw BB King playing in small clubs. It changed my impression of what music was. Johny Winter (a local Detroiter at the time) once said to me that is wasn't what you played . . . it was how you played it. No one could play Lucile like BB King did. He will be missed.

The blues and BB King taught me to look at music differently. I will forever be thankful.

I started playing the guitar because of Ace Frehley but I kept playing the guitar because of Mr. King and many artists like him.

Eternal rest, grant unto him, Oh Lord.
May Your perpetual light shine on him
and may his soul and the souls of all the faithfully departed, rest in peace.
Amen.

This is one time the NY Times may have said it best.

B. B. King, Defining Bluesman for Generations, Dies at 89

As if to confirm that, here is the article from the BBC.

BB King, the King of Blues, dies at 89

His gifts will continue to give and inspire, for that we can be thankful.
