Based on track record; congress deserves a pay cut.

You know that the original thought was that congressmen would be people who had already made their money and didn't need to be paid.

That would be the auto spell checker to blame.....

It should have read 'last'. Don't ask me why it added a letter. Not like I'm playing Well of Fortune....

That spellchecker must be a pain. Look, it's doing it again!

Why does anyone believe that horseshit? Why dont Americans care about their history, and what worked, what didnt, what was fact, what gets us here, and where we went right and where we went wrong?

I would like to remove term limits for all by amendment, but amend the constitution to make it illegal to get anything from lobbyists, and a lifetime ban on any politician working for lobbyists. And very heavy oversight and regulation for government retirees or whatever going into businesses that do or trying to do business with the government.

Otther I agree and disagree. I like term limits because it limits the idiots staying in office forever. I like others have a basic distrust for politicians but only in proven cases can I say it exists. Investigations are good.

I like keeping politicians from lobbying jobs.

As for retirees working in business that do or even try to do business wiith government I disagree. They wouldn't even be able to get a minimum wage in the fast food industry because it has outlets on military bases. Manufacturing, banking, research, colleges and universities, etc are all the same. They have links to the government in some way. Even the mom and pop store near a military base or government office competes for those indirect funds of the government.

But the people have to vote for the idiots to keep them in offices. And there are good idiots time to time.

I don't mean people who do px shit on army bases, I mean lockheed, haliburton, like that. Influence peddling stuff, old boy network.

You want someone that will work for that money and do good things for America? Hire someone that makes less than half that money in a year.

Someone that is a multi-millionaire (which over half of Congress on this session), has very little motivation to work hard. This 'job' is to stroke their egos and nothing more.

In order to get Americans whom make less than half of that salary would require one or more amendments to the US Constutitiion. Anything less and it'll be easily challenged in court and removed.

Terms limits without changes to 'how someone gets elected' will do nothing. There are more than enough multi-millionaires that 'need' their egos stroked and names in the history books. They may even just do a rotation system.....

Frankly I think term limits are a violation of the 1st amendment.
