I get the impression that belonging to one of these groups gives folks the right to tell others that they're not sufficiently "kinky" if one doesn't reply in a manner the sender deems appropriate.

While I don't have personal experience with the Black Rose Society I can say that I've never run across a group dynamic like that in the meat space. You're describing more of an interwebz phenomenon.

Adorable puppy is adorable, dear gods I want to hug it and squeeze it and call it George

*laughs* True story.

Recently I've been... well... hugging and squeezing Carol more than normal (which is already quite a lot). That led me to Saturday morning cartoons from my youth which led me to calling her "George" (which baffled her LOL). Then it came it me in a blinding flash of inspiration. Up till that very moment when someone inquired about Carol's slave name I told them, "It's Carol." From now on it's "George". However long it takes, I am dying with anticipation for someone to ask me that question again.

Since I went ahead and tangented, I'll answer the OP also. A word like "master" when used as a label is just conversational short-hand -- useful before real conversation and understanding happens. This guy tried to use it as a credential which is stupid for a whole raft of reasons. Do you know the endorsing organization? Can you independently validate the endorsement? Do you have reason to trust their endorsement? What is the scope of that trust? Is there a formal process to register a complaint? etc etc.
