It's that time of the month again...no, not your period...the first of the month (just a couple days late).
I am finally over that cough. Apparently the high pressure medicine I was taking had that nice side effect so I begged him to switch it. I was literally drinking all kinds of OTC cough syrups trying to kick that cough to hell.
Due to raising flood waters, I could not get the bike out for a while. Now that the storms are over, I should be able to get on that sucker after I tweak it a bit.
Mom and I had to admit that the lawn mower needed some fine tuning. We took it in on Monday because the self propel cable was not working and the blade needed to be sharpen. The guy went ahead and replace the blade and put a new cable on as well. Mom goes and mows the lawn and the mower was basically taking off on its own. Now I can say we have a lawn, not a meadow.
I am getting 2 or 3 items ready for the county fair come September/October weekend. One is a heirloom baby afghan (I search of antique crochet patterns half the time these days), the other is a regular afghan in a frosty green shade. I had some left over from making a Cthulhu for Aylee and her young ones. The third item is a sweater I am making for myself.
Mom is doing sorta well. She is starting to forget some things, so I have to remind her at times what we are doing. Brothers are doing okay, got a nephew working in Kuwait for now. He is really smart when it comes to computer systems and so forth. The baby brother (Big M) is a postmaster for a village post office now. He leaves in the morning early but gets home before the kids come in from school.
Had to have 4 teeth removed due to massive pain (2 of them were broke). When the dentist was working on the first one, it came flying out of my mouth. It surprised me quite a bit and I started laughing. Now my dentist thinks I'm weird...4 teeth removed in 8 days time period...such a pain slut, I know.
No love life but then I am not really looking these days.
Lizard is doing sorta fine. We are getting together in the last week of December, first week of January for an anime con in Austin. I need to make reservations for the hotel room (its at an exclusive hotel this year) and volunteer if they take me at this late date (the coordinator for both cons is usually the same person but she can't do the August event and its too damn hot in Austin in August). This should give her plenty of time to work on her cosplay outfit.
Well, back to crocheting the baby afghan. When I get a chance, I will take a pic of it and share it with y'all.
