So you believe that there are sane murderers? I don't.

Who gives a fuck....... the jury found him not guilty and thats good enough for me, we call it justice Butch you should give it a go.

Thanks Hunter... I have overlooked your point... Hmmmmm... I must admit this is shoots my theory down a bit. But I still see no excuse for murder insane or not.

Butch

No one is excusing murder, dont let that stop you though.

My butt... It is just giving what is deserving...flat out revenge... I like that view and could not care less about the morality of it all. To me some people , because of their actions sane or insane, forfeit their right to be on this earth with the families of the people they murder. If that makes me uncivilized will so be it...but remember...I am with the majority thinking in this world at this time anyway...not you. So perhaps forcing someone to take responsibility for their actions is the true measure of civilized and you need to man up and get with it.

Butch

Oh, bollocks to the 'manning up' and all that John Wayne crap. I'm happy that the perp here has been taken out of circulation and will probably remain that way.

And what makes you think you're with the 'majority'?

Btw, nobody said you were 'uncivilised' except you, yourself. If that cap fits, wear it; if not, don't. I don't care one way or the other.

Murder is the unlawful taking of lives. Please don't be silly.

as i said, some of those "lawfully" executed were innocent and recently some convicted on death row scheduled to be executed were found to be innocent so narrowly escaped the same fate.. Some of these were horrendous cases where the prosecutors withheld evidence that would have proven their innocence.. To execute someone that was innocent is murder to me..

This US "justice" system is pretty fucked up, plenty of innocent people have plead guilty to lesser charges cuz there were so many charges stacked on top of each other and the risk of loosing with some crappy public defender was too high... thats why prosecutors throw every thing at the accused, to pummel them down to plead guilty even when they arent.. Some states are rabid with jail terms, where you can be sentenced for decades for very minor crimes, those tend to be states where the prison system is very profitable for the corps that run them...

Oh yeah, and now we find out that FBI falsified evidence for decades.. [8|]

Because more people in this world live under systems that have capital punishment as law.

That definition of moral relativism usefully uncouples morality from prescribed rules, e.g. the law or religious doctine, but it mistakenly focuses on individual people. Morality is like language in that it is socially derived, negotiated and applied. We could all have a private language, but that would miss the point. Morality is "for getting along with others". In "Would it be right to have killed the teenage Hitler?" the question is an attempt to negotiate a shared morality, which is also what's happening in this thread.

Actually yes I do live here in the US at this moment but the US govt has things here too fucked up for me to ever want to stay.. I knew the US had its problems before coming here (I was not wearing rose colored glasses) but it is only after living here (& going thru the various "mills") that a person can truly see how fucked up things are.. Honestly, if it takes 4 steps to accomplish something in a country with a sane govt, it takes 21 steps here to do the same freakin' thing.. its a horrible waste of time, paperwork, effort, cost, hoops to jump thru.. and its become more of a "cant do this", "cant do that" than a "can do" country as a result.. the govt is strangling people, businesses, entrepreneurs and innovation..
