It is with a sad heart that Slavemike4u has recently passed away due to cancer. His son made the announcement in The Break Room over on FL (well, it was E.T. who posted it). My heart goes out to the family at this time.

Major unhappiness about Mike. Very sad and Im feeling for his son and his family...may he rest in peace, no longer pain ridden, but with a smile and his chuckles surrounding him. I hope he finds a kick ass golf course. Loved ya mike, it was a pleasure knowing you!!!!

He will be greatly missed, around these parts. The community was just getting to know him and love him.

It is with a heavy heart that MP and I add our condolences to mike's family and friends. As I am not up to date on ToS and do not want to run afoul of it, I will refrain from posting the direct link to the donation page that has been set up to help with mike's medical costs and final expenses. To the best of my knowledge, all of the participants on this thread so far can direct a person to it if they would like to contribute. For mike, thank you for all of the wonderful debates, conversations, and talks over the years. You will be missed.

Mike was wrong on occasion but he was always wrong in the right way... He was a humanist and not so much a liberal that many here like to label him. His first thought was for you and me and not a political ideology... I admired and respected him and will miss his fire and passion. Butch

Fixed my typo's, I agree with kdsub, he seemed to be a humanist as a person. He always fought/and often fought hard on here, for the underdog. He died far too young. RIP

All my love to those who knew him. We were solid online friends, and I'm pretty sad I will no longer have him to message on the other side. RIP my friend.

FR Thanks so much for sharing this, ST! I'd never had known otherwise. It pains me almost physically to think that Mike, who was so kind and supportive during my medical misadventures, never heard from yours truly, who had no clue he was sick. Heartbreaking. Needless to say, my warmest sympathies go out to his son, his family, and his friends. Mike and I were both Catholic kids, so it seems fitting to end with a stanza from the hymn I heard and loved while serving as an altar boy at countless funerals: The golden evening brightens in the west; Soon, soon to faithful warriors comes their rest; Sweet is the calm of paradise the blessed. Alleluia, Alleluia! Mike, may you rest in peace and light perpetual shine upon you.

Very appropriate DC well done. Mike's faith wavered but the lessons he learned in his faith served him well to the end.... God Bless Him Butch

Butch would it be possible for you to express my condolances on the slave Mike thread. He was an interesting fellow. We started out as total enemies but with time he recognized his objections were not so much to substance as to style. He appologized like a gentleman and we became friendly.I am sorry that he is no longer with us and his imput will be missed. Thompsonx I hope mod 3 you make the exception and let me post this note. He is truly sincere. Butch
