The original:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zf53Pg2AkdY

Or the remake: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pk2U41uvOlI

If you have an original and remake to compare, feel free to share. [:)]

The original. The second sounds like whining to me.

Not original and remake, but two versions. Who sang it better?

It's a good remake.....but I still prefer the original

As far as remakes of songs go.....I most often prefer the original but there are rare times I prefer the remake....

Like this one:

Original
Remake

I can think of two, right off the top of my head. Here's the first:

Original

Cover

For me, hands-down, the cover wins that battle.

Then, there's the guy I think is just an over-rated waste of time

and what will always be (for me) the much better version

Lastly; while I do like the original (and sing it, at karaoke), the cover is much better:

Buble has a smoother, more polished voice but, I like the raspy and sexy sound of Pritcher.

I couldn't get past the baby faced young boys singing about a whore house so yeah, the cover. Definitely the cover.

original https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tkXtMnSi64

cover https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTfHhNg1iII

Cover gets my vote.

The original resides in my ipod on the "road trip" playlist.

The cover lacks the driving beat and comes out as a hip hop dance number.

Both good, but not for the same mood.

Sometimes the cover does come out better:
Original by the hollies: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=to2cze58R5E
Cover by Boiled in Lead: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycZlGOYegrw

Now, there are some songs that keep coming back over and over and over...
"What a Diference a Day Makes"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_MllRG5aBU
Cute Version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CeYulRTOtWA
Disco Version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6CAeDN9er8

One song that gets me in a mood to play: "Violent Love"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0CoCTb2qKs
But this is a song that almost everyone had coverd...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WV5a8iNBn64
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-usnjaemG4
even Oingo Boingo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vb6YMCQ7V2o

Arrangement and tempo really can turn one tune into something totally different.

Just don''t confuse a new arrangement with a filk...

I was not familiar with the cover artist, but I'm happy you posted this. I love his style.

I almost always like the original best, although sometimes I'll enjoy both pretty much equally. For instance:
Original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WUdlaLWSVM
And a cover by the same artist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZtxO1gwbHPQ

And here is a couple, of which I like both. They were released about a year apart. Very similar, but I definitely like the original best:
