Scott Davis, a program specialist at the VA enrollment center in Atlanta, says 34,000 veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan lost their eligibility for healthcare after the VA sat on their applications until they expired. The applications were designated as pending because they lacked income information. However, combat veterans are not required to verify their income when applying for VA benefits. For more information, watch the video from Fox News, and also at this article. Mr. Davis' testimony before the House Committee on Veterans Affairs on July 8, 2014 is available on the House Committee on Veterans Affairs website. Mr. Davis filed for whistleblower protection in January, 2014.

Thank you Mr Obama for your healthcare reforms. Your administration did it's job well. Remember, the buck stops with you.

The Veterans Choice, Access and Accountability Act of 2014, which Congress rushed to pass last summer to address a patient wait-time scandal at dozens of VA hospitals and clinics, spurred VA to broaden access to care. The result was seven million new health care appointments for veterans the past year, but also a flood of new enrollees into VA care, an accounting nightmare for health care administrators and a surprising budget shortfall, which VA officials concede they failed to forecast and which angry lawmakers realize they must repair before going on August recess. If not, VA leaders warn, VA medical facilities will shut their doors

Blame Congress when you withhold vital information from them

First of all, this has nothing to do with 'Obama's healthcare reforms' in general or specifically in the ACA.

Second, this is a fraud perpetrated by the VA.

The so-called 'vital information' was neither vital or required for benefits. The requirement was a false demand that applicants needed to provide income information and that is not a requirement for benefits. So more VA heads should roll and all applicants cases should be reopened.

First VA coverage exempts soldiers from Obamacare coverage because it meets the requirements
