ORIGINAL: Lucylastic Mike Huckabee could use troops to stop abortion if elected president Republican presidential hopeful and former Arkansas governor makes pitch for conservative backing by saying he would consider using force to stop abortions Languishing in sixth place in the race to become the Republican candidate for the White House, Mike Huckabee said he would consider using troops or the FBI to stop women having abortions. The former Arkansas governor turned Fox News television host stepped up his pitch for conservative voters by hardening his pro-life stance. His remarks at a series of stops in the key state of Iowa came against a backdrop of billionaire Donald Trump establishing a commanding lead in the polls, thanks to an incendiary campaign focusing on the other hot-button issue for the right, immigration. In a crowded Republican field, with 17 candidates seeking the nomination, competition is particularly fierce on the right. Alarmingly for Mr Huckabee, who polled strongly when he sought the nomination in 2008, he is not only well behind Mr Trump but other conservatives including Ben Carson, the neurosurgeon and Senator Ted Cruz from Texas. Asked about his position on abortion in Jefferson, Iowa, Mr Huckabee said: “I will not pretend there is nothing we can do to stop this.” He said he would invoke the fifth and 14th amendments for the protection of every human as a tool to stop abortion by including unborn children. Pressed at his next stop, in Rockwell City about his stance, he replied: “All American citizens should be protected.” Challenged directly if this would entail using the FBI or federal forces to enforce his interpretation, Mr Huckabee said: “We’ll see, if I get to be president.” Abortion remains a key issue for the religious right in America and Mr Huckabee, an evangelical Christian, is a long standing opponent of abortion. Last November he described abortion as worse than the Holocaust in a speech. Even though a woman’s right to choose was established by the Supreme Court in the 1973 Roe v Wade ruling, opponents have sought to undermine the ruling. In Kansas, the governor and legislature have imposed more than two dozen measures to restrict abortion including preventing health insurance covering the procedure. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/11779011/Mike-Huckabee-could-use-troops-to-stop-abortion-if-elected-president.html This is an abortion thread now? Okay... At one extreme you have Mike Huckabee, whose concern for unborn babies is understandable. Everyone loves babies, right? Huckabee isnt doing well in the Republican primary race though, because he comes across as a tad too religious, and is seen as being unelectable due to his stance on abortion and other issues. At the other extreme you have Planned Parenthood, an organization that was set up by racists with the express purpose of slowing the growth of a certain minority groups population... Planned Parenthood has recently been caught up in a serious scandal as well, where they have allegedly been performing illegal abortion procedures (outlawed for being extremely cruel to the infant that is being destroyed) for the sole purpose of keeping body parts intact for sale to big pharma and others. Yet "liberals" rally around Planned Parenthood, and act like Mike Huckabee is some kind of a monster. How bizarre
