PeonForHer -> If there's one word that would put you off ... (8/4/2015 3:00:17 PM)

... a potential partner, in his/her profile, what would it be?

Me, it's the word 'bubbly'. I do not *do* "bubbly". I never, ever want anyone who is "bubbly" in my life. As far as I am concerned, all "bubbly" people should be lined up against the nearest wall and shot.

littleladybug -> RE: If there's one word that would put you off ... (8/4/2015 3:04:26 PM)

"discrete"

DerangedUnit -> RE: If there's one word that would put you off ... (8/4/2015 4:06:00 PM)

Anyone who calls themselves things... I audibly groan everytime someone calls themselves intelligent or funny or educated or trustworthy.... the last person I stopped talking to was because they stated their iq but didn't even know how the bell curve worked.... I just can't

I love bubbly people though get an extra energy boist around people who are excited all the time

Fleurozinsolingual.

That word would put me off.

Discrete wins hands down. "Demanding" comes a close second.

DesFIP -> RE: If there's one word that would put you off ... (8/4/2015 5:20:31 PM)

Cunt or whore. If that's how they talk about a future partner then I have nothing to say to them.

Kaliko -> RE: If there's one word that would put you off ... (8/4/2015 5:51:45 PM)

"Empath."

Spiritedsub2 -> RE: If there's one word that would put you off ... (8/4/2015 6:35:21 PM)

Peon, I'm thinking you need to let us list more than one word [:D]

sexyred1 -> RE: If there's one word that would put you off ... (8/4/2015 7:16:57 PM)

If they call themselves a "dominate".

I second that.

bamabbwsub -> RE: If there's one word that would put you off ... (8/4/2015 8:50:34 PM)

"Dominate" is definitely on my list, but for me, text speak is the proverbial straw.

I know, that's not "one word." :)

sloguy02246 -> RE: If there's one word that would put you off ... (8/4/2015 9:55:43 PM)

My current favorite put-off is when someone writes about looking for a person who "peaks" - or worse, "peeks" - their interest.

And yes, any form of "text-speak" used in a profile.
Call me old-fashioned, but careless spelling, syntax, grammar, and punctuation always give me pause.

DaddySatyr -> RE: If there's one word that would put you off ... (8/4/2015 10:03:09 PM)

mis-using words, in general (like "pique", but mis-using a few of them is an issue for me. Anyone can fall prey to a typo), but even that is kind of a minor thing.

There are certain phrases that drive me nuts:

"Down-to-earth" (especially when it's not properly punctuated). The phrase means NOTHING.

"I'm a submissive; not YOUR submissive" I often find this on profiles where the information given and the way it is presented doesn't seem to speak to a submissive mindset.

"I'm a submissive; not a doormat"

and lastly, I love to see this (or something akin to it), right at the beginning of the profile: "Let's get something straight ..." or "Before you message me, understand ..."

I give them a miss.

One of my "sideline" pet peeves is: "If I don't respond to you, it's because I'm not interested; not because I'm rude." No, honey. You're rude, as well as not interested and "rude" makes me "not interested".

"vanilla"
"brat"
Any euphemism for cheating like "married", "discrete" etc.

. . . more than one word would be these two, "50 Shades"

needlesandpins -> RE: If there's one word that would put you off ... (8/5/2015 2:35:07 AM)

discrete is right up there. it screams cheating scum bag. text speak is another because it's just lazy, although I'm aware of the irony that I don't completely punctuate correctly here, and that is me being completely lazy :-)

My biggest hate of all is not a word as such, it's the multiple profile person. I get those that may have a sub, and a dom profile, and state that, but those that go 'oh look, i just found this site, how fantastic is this?' yeah dickhead, but you've been here with another profile for a year already. some of us recognise your photos, and we really aren't that stupid. you are not new, you are just being shady for some reason.

Michael, if you were a woman on one of these sites you'd understand why we state that we don't reply to everyone. It really isn't us being rude, it's us not being interested, and it's us protecting ourselves. It's also to do with the amount of mail we get when we are looking. I get quite a bit of mail, and my profile is about as negative as i can make it. I refuse point blank to reply to guys, and even if i were to be looking I'd still state that me not replying is a thanks, but no thanks. the reason being is that lots of guys get very abusive at a no thanks, no matter how politely you put it. life is too short for that crap.

Anyone who uses discrete when they mean discreet.

Although using discrete properly gets major points.

Any profile with the phrase "You will..." as in I will do whatever they fill int he blank with because of their domliness.

Any profile that refers to female superiority.

You'll take note, please, that I've never written to you. ALL I was saying was: "When I see that phrase, my job gets easier; hide, block, move on."

Dang-- wish "passive-aggressive spelling nazis" was a proper answer to the OP's question.
