Oh and heres a drinking game you can play this evening...im only gonna be marking down the times they say these things, I wont be drunk but I will be laughin.

Listed below are rules for the GOP debate drinking game. Please do not drink yourself or anyone else to death. The game can be played without Jagermeister, but it's not recommended. I will be live-Tweeting during the event.

Drink THE FIRST TIME:

1. Donald Trump mentions his wealth, or how smart he is.

2. A candidate mentions Benghazi

3. A candidate says, "This president..."

4. A candidate whines about not getting called on enough.

5. Someone promises to "take America back."

6. Trump interrupts someone by saying, "Excuse me, let me answer that…"

7. Anyone mentions Hitler, Nazis or Neville Chamberlain. Includes related imagery, e.g. "ovens."

8. The crowd cheers a racist/bigoted statement by a candidate.

9. A candidate mentions his poor/hardscrabble upbringing, or a parent who "worked every day of his life."

10. A candidate talks about "stopping Hillary Clinton."

11. Anyone warns the U.S. is becoming Greece.

12. Trump refers to himself in the third person.

13. Anyone invokes St. Ronald Reagan.

Drink EVERY time a candidate:

14. Claims a positive relationship with a minority. Also known as the, "Some of my best friends are…" rule.

15. Tries to speak Spanish

16. Tries to warm up to the Ohio crowd with an awkward LeBron shout-out.

Drink EVERY TIME you hear the word(s):

17. "I'm not a scientist."

18. "You can keep your doctor."

19. "ACORN."

20. "The war on Christians."

21. "Thug."

22. "Right here in Ohio."

23. "Culture of dependency."

TAKE A SHOT OF JAGER AT ANY MENTION OF:

24. "Kenya."

25. "All Lives Matter."

watched the earlier forum and on the whole, even though there was some posturing, self-promoting and non-answers to questions, the candidates acquitted themselves relatively well.

the moderators asked thoughtful questions and though they sometimes let the candidates get away with canned speechs and non-answers, it was clear by the moderators responses they were aware of just what went on.

jim Gilmore, former governor of Virginia was the only one I wasn't acquainted with, and I ended up liking him, he was probably the oldest of the candidates and seemed in some regards, the most experienced. I believe he should be back in the public service somehow.

Lindsay graham seemed stuck on isis.

on the whole I enjoyed listening to carly Fiorina.

everyone of them, when asked two words to describe Hillary Clinton, didn't have anything positive to say. it was as I mentioned earlier---all of them believe the country has gone towards heck with Obama, and want to stall the potential of more of it with her.

the crowd was horribly sparse---don't know why they picked 5 oclock as a time, as opposed to say 630 when more people could have attended. I suspect that wont be the case in just a little bit for the later event...

I was part of a movement to convince Dr. Carson to run. I donated money and I don't regret that. However, I definitely have a new favorite: Carly Fiorina.

Here's some of my take-aways:

Lindsey Graham - war monger! EVERY answer he gave - whether the question was about abortion, the economy, whatever - included the destruction of ISIS. ISIS should be a priority, but we have other issues for which Graham doesn't seem to have answers.

Donald Trump - A rich kid, treating our election process like his new, expensive toy.

Gilmore - unimpressive. Not worth worrying about.

Bobby Jindal - a person of interest.

Perry - Impressive record in Texas, but seemed awfully "polished" and "practiced" yet, still mis-spoke a couple of times (President Raven?). I would appoint him head of DHS (Until I wipe that department out).

Bush - Not just "No", but "Hell nah!"

Huckabee - a very likeable guy that I would appoint to HUD or HHS.

So far (and probably up 'til the end), my "Dream Ticket" is Fiorina/Carson.

She impressed me too.
Paul doesn't understand the first thing about foreign affairs.
I mean his repeated comments about how ISIS has too many of our weapons so we shouldn't arm those fighting them. As bad as the army refusing to send BARs to Europe for fear the Germans might Germans might capture one and copy them leaving our guys with a French light machine gun so bad it has been called the worst light machine gun in history.

of the four who were/are my favorites, I thought scott walker went up a bit in stock, cruz and Jindal floated up and down, and rand paul went down a smidgen. in his interaction (an unfortunate one) with chris Christie, I thought he came off peevish. I think between the four right now if I had to vote, id go with walker.

like ben carson a lot, just cant see him being president but I would like to see him in service somewhere. similarly with Fiorina, liked her a lot but cant see her being president, though id like to see her in service somewhere too. I also don't see enough conservatives/libertarians voting for a female president yet. we're not like the left who will vote for someone to a degree because of their gender or skin color.

I agree---trump's a rich kid with a new expensive toy. id only ever vote for a person who I would actually personally want to hang out with/count as a friend and he didn't meet that criteria. I do like straight talking, but he also came off a little buffoonish and irascible. I think he would better serve the country by being a non-cabinet level, informal advisor to the president.

I though marco Rubio did okay. I seem to gravitate towards people who speak calmly and assuredly and not with any sort of stage dramatics.

I found the whole thing somewhat interesting, but then tiresome at the same time. the platitudes and generalities are the same every election cycle and im really more interested in details. its unfortunate there doesn't seem to be a format whereby we'll be getting to hear all those in one place at one time.

I might like to write the rnc to see if they could put up one webpage with all the candidates positions/plans/proposals in one place---wouldn't that be good.

I've only been able to see clips of the debate, none of which have changed my opinions on any candidates yet. I'm sure it'll be on YouTube in full sometime today. Or if anyone has a link, I'd appreciate it. I don't watch enough tv to pay for cable, and the FOX News site insists on a cable provider login to watch the debate in full.

So far, I can see that Jeb would really miss the Line Item Veto he had here in Florida.

I remember Christie hugging Obama. But I also remember an immediate federal response to Hurricane Sandy. Considering the clusterfuck that was Katrina, I don't think a hug was out of line.

I haven't learned much about any of the candidates yet from this, and doubt I will.

I just got done with the 5pm show. Tried to bring it back up to link it here, and it's been pulled for a Copyright issue by FOX News. lol

A few things really jumped out at me:
    1. Rick Perry even looks a lot like W!
    2. Fiorina did well, and looked at ease.
    3. Lindsey Graham did the best job, to me, at demonstrating he's unfit for the job, as he's a one-dimensional candidate.
    4. Jindal looks like Mr. Mackey, mkay?
    5. Pataki acquitted himself well.
    6. Rick Santorum is nothing but a smarmy politician.
    7. Jim Gilmore didn't stood out by not standing out at all.


I'm haven't watched the primetime debate yet, but I'm going to bet that Fiorina, Perry and Pataki get bumps in the polls. Whether it's enough to gain them a seat at the big boy debates, we'll just have to see.

I know I didn't like when rand paul (who I do like) tried to slam Christie by saying "go hug Obama again" (or something to that effect). I do know at the time though, there was some of chatter as to how that helped Obama in the election (albeit very little) and hurt Romney.

I agree---the forums aren't good ways to get to know the candidates. I think I mentioned above the rnc should have a sort of clearinghouse page for them all. who wants to make trips to 17 websites and multiple pages on each site.

A promise of a response.
The biggest difference between them was NJ didn't have the levees burst, and the NJ locals didn't refuse to ask for help. Remember that is what got FEMA behind the curve in NO.

I definitely think the top 10 will shift dramatically for the next debate, if there's even that many standing by then.

Fiorina is probably the best bet on a VP nod to balance anybody but Trump.

But considering his comments about buying politicians on both sides, I see The Donald as a big part of the system's problem.

Interesting that Trump refused to agree not to run as an independent if somebody else gets the nomination.
