ShaharThorne -> September Roll Call!!! (9/1/2015 6:54:23 AM)

Here it is, September and the leaves are already falling down in TX. After all that flooding earlier in the year, we got drought again, with burn bans all around us.

Trying to save up money for the trip in December to Austin so I can work Ikkicon (I volunteer so I can get in free). Lizard and her bf will cosplay some anime and they are willing to help me out with the hotel bill (over $400 for 3 nights).

After the cellulitis attack last month, I am very cautious about getting things done. I had to see one of the doctors about my shoulder pain and got a shot of steroids to make it easier to move.

ATT is being a jackass so I researched quite a few VoIP companies and got her registered with one based out of Dallas. Just need the device, a wired router and I am set to go make naughty phonecalls...J/K!

Afghans are done!!! Just working on an afghan for the shear pleasure of it. Mom is threatening to take all of the baby ones to the hospital for the nursery. She does not know about the yarn I got tucked away in the closet (yes, the Closet of Doom is rearing its ugly head).

Got MHMR Thursday for my quarterly check-in. They renew my scripts for meds, tell me I need to lose weight (the drugs are WHY I am fat) and pick up some chocolate afterwards (dark chocolate for the heart).

2 of the kittens think that I belong to them. Mom laughs at their antics and we feed them and their mom. 2 other mature cats come over to eat. Our neighbors dog is missing and we fear the coyotes got her (she had a bleeding paw last time she was seen).

Nothing on the BDSM front. My gf's daughter had a baby girl the other day and she received a heirloom afghan from me. That baby is so cute!!! *grandma hormones kicking in*

Mom and the gang enjoyed Florida. 3 beaches, a wine tasting and Mom has a tanned face! She claims she sat in the shade but I told her that I got 2nd degree burns years ago sitting in the shade...

Nothing more to think of, just passing time when I am not crocheting, reading or playing Runescape. I actually picked up a copy of Emma. Silly how writing changes over the years.

My daughter has the same problem with weight and the meds.
Hell The Man had lost 30 pounds and his blood sugar was better, then the S.A.D. showed back up last year. Six months on SSRIs and the weight is back.

He had a major health scare last month and is still adjusting to a diagnosis of hypertension and cardiac involvement. And the blood thinners mean he can't walk without ending up with odd bruises if not trails of blood down his arms and legs.

I head into September a year older. I just turned 42. Had an awesome birthday party with a Carnival/circus theme and a pig pickin'.

This is an awesome month for me. I'm gearing up to spend a week in the outer banks with 50 other FemDom enthusiasts. It's a yearly tradition.

Working on a potential business partnership, while trying to recover another business from a partnership-gone-sour.

Overall, I'm incredibly happy.

One negative, I've put on about 7-10 pounds over the past few months. Need to get that under control. Gah.

Happy birthday! Wonderful age for a woman, in my humble opinion.

One of the few times in my life I have been glad to see the summer season come to a close. It started with my apartment being crammed into my bedroom so contractors could come in to replace 110 year old ceilings and seriously injuring my foot in the moving process, so I spent June basically sitting down and July slowly being able to walk again. The computer I rely on for my work died and the expensive replacement was haunted and had to go back the manufacturer. And then I spent August putting the place back together while trying to catch up on two months of writing and video editing while making three separate trips, ending the month with one flat-mate moving out and another moving in, and once the electricians patch up the holes in my bedroom from some new wiring I can finally put my bedroom back together.

Due to immobility I too gained a lot of weight. Technically, I am less than 10 pounds overweight according to those calculated charts. But really I am a good 20 to 30 pounds over what my skeleton was used to most of my life. And I am soooo looking forward to getting my rowing machine dusted off and back to use, and getting back to my Monday through Friday low carb low cholesterol eating, which has helped me shed weight in the past.

As for blood sugar issues, I am friends with one of the people who was cured of his Type 2 Diabetes by getting the stomach band surgery. He said it took about a year of preparation to get his system ready for it, but has since lost basically an entire person's worth of weight, feels wonderful, and hasn't had to take medication since he recovered from the surgery. I know many people cannot afford it or withstand the procedure, but it really is a modern medical miracle.

I'm back on CS folks. Been working as a chemist again for the last couple of years and our busy season is about to begin.

Me and this month started off on the wrong foot. [:D] I'm exhausted all the time and it's taking forever to get any energy back (had bronchitis for five and a half weeks and also had surgery for something else). All of that is behind me and I want my energy back NOW.

I meant to do some mending while sitting on the couch watching tv today, but four cats piled up on me and if I tried to use a needle and thread they would have said, "Wow, dental floss!" I don't know why they were piling up all over me like that; it's not winter time. I was so hot under that pile of cats that I had my son turn on the fan in the living room so it could blow on me and cool me off...as dumping cats off of me every other second did no good...they kept coming back faster than I could dump them off until I started laughing and gave up.

One of my bottoms wanted me to spend the night at his house, in his guest bedroom. I've known him for five or six years and he's a nice guy. I said no, in spite of it being past 2 a.m. My meds were at home, my favorite pillows that I can't possibly sleep without are at home...and I didn't want him to see me the next afternoon when I woke up. The first day or two after a scene I'm almost screaming every time I have to stand up because my legs will hurt me that bad. (When I'm feeling especially old and crippled, I like to be alone.) My sciatic nerve has been especially evil since I woke up and made even sitting on the couch miserable.

I got such a rush from topping him that the next day I went splat. Woke up in drop and with an intense migraine headache. I've used dark Dove chocolate squares as medicine. It helped enough.

On the 9th I'm topping one of my other bottoms, and I'll be using several paddles for so long that my shoulder and wrist and even my fingers are going to be screaming at me later that night, as soon as my natural high wears off. My gyn gets to see me on the 10th, and I will be so gimpy by then that I'll have to lurch and stumble into her office and get into and out of chairs with a mighty groan (and grimace). That's going to be fun. I'm going to be told the results of my surgery and tests.

We're going to be finding out how hot and cold compresses (am going to squeeze out small towels and wrap his feet for a while, so I don't have to untie and retie him up to soak his feet in a tub)...affect how he processes pain. I meant to look in Fet's bastinado groups to see if anyone else has done this but I'm too wiped out. After I sleep and wake up I'll see about it. If I have enough time, I'll phone someone I know who used to go to our play parties (I watched their bastinado scene several years back) and I'll ask her if she and her hubby have ever tried this.

This month I'll be in New York for three days with some age player friends. We're going to some huge Nintendo store and I'm going to look at everything Pokemon until my eyes pop out.

Oh great. As I'm sitting here, I see that my son gave our cats milk again and one of them that's lactose intolerant is finishing off what the non-lactose intolerant cat left behind. Too late now. Tomorrow is going to be an interesting day and my son is going to have to follow behind the cats with paper towels, cleanup wipes and disinfectant.

Married my sub of 3 1/2 years on July 17th. Went to Vegas while we were out that way, and got married at a drive through. It was awesome... and hilarious! Weird adjusting to marriage again after 23 years of being single. Have been riding on the 18 wheeler and seeing the country with him for the last 3 months, been to 34 of the continental states in that time. Having a ball and enjoying all the sights.

When we go back home the end of this month I am staying for a while. My oldest Imp finally got custody of the pod people and will be moving back home then. They are going to stay with us and I am going to help with the twiners while he gets on his feet and established. Sooooooo happy the California courts are letting him leave now, after a 3 year battle.

Other than that day to day life happening. smiles.

The 6th was the first anniversary of my collaring my submissive. It was so sweet. I took him to a play party Friday night & he took me to dinner that Saturday. The anniversary was actually on Sunday but he had to leave super early so the rest of the weekend we celebrated. I'm so so lucky he's mine. I know that every day.

My garden is starting to wind down. The corn is finished for the year, so are the peas and the beans. My peppers are still producing and so is the tomato plant. That catnip is so tenacious, it's come back year after year. lol
