1. This is a stunning example of privilege-blindness.

It may very well be.

Not all very intelligent people have the same levels of skill in everything.

This is very true.

Social intelligence, for example, in Aspergers. Some "get" math, some "get" language, some "get" art.

I am clearly Aspergers, even though I have never been formallly diagnosed as such.
I think you might agree that my apparent "social" intelligence is lacking.

Therefore, I'd be the last person to disagree with your statement that we all have a feel for different things.

Personally, when I hear (and read) the absolutely atrocious grammar that some people spew forth, it literally "hurts" my ears, and pains my eyes.

It's silly to think that all intelligence is as you judge it.

I never intimated that things are as simple to you as they are to me.

Without having studied trig(either by yourself or through school) there is little chance of being able to "think" your way into an answer(outside of luck)

I have been away from the keyboard for a few days, so, I'm not quite sure of where this conversation is going, so perhaps I need to read the thread, from the beginning, over again.

While an inquisitive person might stand a chance "thinking" their way through basic trigonometry (since trig is merely the innate ratio of sides of a right triangle with respect to various internal angles), I must wholeheartedly agree with you that solving systems of equations and finding slopes and areas under curves was something left to (probably Aspergers) geniuses of the past, such as Isaac Newton and Euclid.

Whether these people had exemplary social skills to complement their genius, I can't say (other than that what I know of Isaac Newton indicates that he almost certainly did not).

JC on a cracker

The eloquence is lacking on that one.

Since I wasn't going for eloquent, the observation is irrelevant.

Clearly.

Just so you know, whenever he feels like he can't answer something cleverly, he resorts to insults.

I know. I was bored last night and needed some entertainment. But I really thought he would last longer before he ran out of delusional "facts" and resorted to just insults. Being off the board these last few days must have really thrown him off his game.

Nah. He's got no game.

He's got game. Unfortunately for him, it's "pull my finger".

Bhruic -> RE: Are The Messages Really True? (9/20/2015 12:44:16 PM)

...and they all misuse "your" for "you're". My inbox is just boring. My partner, FeisTsub, seems to get a lot of knuckle draggers sending her messages, but still they are largely dull.

You Nookie, at least seem to attract a more entertaining class of Cro-Magnon man :)

Just so you can more clearly see the obvious, I will tell you when I don't understand what is being said, and when I think differently than you do.

I will even attempt to explain why I see what you can't see, and how I see it - until - and unless - it slowly dawns upon me that you have nothing left to offer by way of edification, at which point, I simply drop off, bored with the lack of intelligent conversation.

To let you know what happened with that idiotic "JC on a cracker" comment, since I am not at all "hip" with entertainment happenings, I actually didn't understand what the comment meant. Nope. I didn't get it one bit.

Of course, I googled it in the urban dictionary, and then I read about its usage in the entertainment news.

And, then, when I kind of sort of figured out what it meant to the person making that idiotic comment, I simply concluded that the whole "JC on a cracker" point wasted our time, as it was wholly irrelevant (as far as I could tell).

Now, if you truly think that the "JC on a cracker" point had deep intellectual meaning, please edify me, as my googling didn't suffice to bring up anything related to the idiotic comment that was worth anyone the effort of googling for it.
