WASHINGTON, Pa. (KDKA) — Ask any client at Barbiere in Washington County and he’ll tell you the upscale gentleman’s barbershop offers more than just your typical haircut. From the rugged décor to the macho atmosphere, it’s a place where guys can unwind with a complimentary cocktail or enjoy a cold beer. “[I] come here, talk sports, guy talk. A great place to get away after a hard day’s work, get a haircut and have a beer,” said client Robert Craig. Now, the business is at the center of a heated debate after owner John Interval was fined $750 for refusing to cut a woman’s hair. She filed an action with the state’s Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs. That agency imposed the fine for gender discrimination after a state investigator visited the business and interviewed Interval. ~CBS Pittsburgh

Aw c'mon, seriously?

If he is bothered by it he might look into what sort of legalities allow the gym curves to reject men.
On the other hand if he has a bit of a sense of humor he would require those being shorn to be topless

its usually (a lot) cheaper to get a cut at a barber shop than a hair stylist... I have done it, actually.. my hair is easy to cut so any fool can do it.. the barber didnt refuse to cut my hair but he was a bit uncomfortable about it cuz it was out of the norm for him..

But really, the barber dude in the article should have just done that typical man thing, cut her hair but do it badly so she would never ask him to do that again.. my ex used to do that all the time when i asked him to do something and he didnt want to.. he would grudgingly do it but badly.. I guess a woman asking a dude to do something is where the saying came from "if you want a job done right you do it yourself"...

I would just be worried about a barber shop that has alcohol. I wouldn't want a drunken barber with scissors that close to my head.

Better than going to a firing range that serves alcoholic beverages.....

The answer (to a lot of modern dilemmas) is to not open a business, but open a private club that provides some service.

Smoking laws in your neck of the woods? "Joe Blow's Food and Wine Club". Charge a membership fee ($1.00 per year).

This particular case? "The Follicle Club - A Gentlemens' Fraternal Order"

Job done.

Where did you get the idea that poor behavior on the part of your ex = a "typical man thing"?

I know thousands of men, and I can't think of a single one with that approach.

Not doing it the same way she would do it or to her standard = doing it "badly" on purpose.

It is acceptable to show that kind of hate/bigotry towards males. Now stop oppressing me!
