ive been packing all weekend and came across some old letters from a lover . as i read through them i came across a line that said "i want you more intimately then skin" . i thought it was really profound . what i'd like to know is ... whats the deepest most profound thing a lover has ever said to you ? something thats stayed w/ you through the years , something you think about and cant help but blush ?

What a great post! There was once a guy whom I barely knew (and never was a lover) who just looked at me and said I had beautiful eyes. It may not be all that profound but I was going through an insecure time and it lightened my mood.[:)]

I have to admit that no one has ever said anything like that to me, and I am little bit jealous. [:'(] (Is this the symbol for green with envy? That is what I am using it as today)

Former loves have said ridiculous things to me that I look back on and laugh about all the time, but never anything that would make you just *sigh*.

I'm insecure by nature, I guess (although some here would insist that it's by choice!). I'm always pleasantly suprised when I make a good impression. This is what a man wrote to me after meeting me: "you would make an entertaining companion in many situations". Probably sounds goofy to you, but pleased me to no end.

This isn't profound, but it's probably the nicest thing Hubby has said to me considering the timing. He said it after he learned of my affair:
"I love you more than anything in the world."

Another one that has stuck with me has nothing to do with a lover but it's a quote in a book from a crew member when my father was Captain of a destroyer escort during WWll. My dad was the first white captain of a ship with an all black crew, and a book and documentary were written about it. In the book one of the crew members said:

"we would follow him to hell and back"

Tears come to my eyes whenever i read that.[:)]

I have to go with the "beautifull eyes" comment. May not be very profound, but any compliment, sincerely meant, is well received. The only other one I can think of was when someone told me I had the softest skin. [:)]

I've had poems and songs written to me. Does that count?

A month after i was dumped by this man and not feeling the greatest about myself, i walked into this gas station on my way to work one morning and this man just lookes at me as i was about to tell him how much i owed and tells me "You look beautiful this morning". I forgot what i was going to say at that but thank you. it made me feel great and i told him so.

I have been told *your eyes are the blue of the sea during a storm, and I would gladly drown in them*, yet TO ME, the best thing I have ever been told is when Master said *you are the woman that my mom said wasn't there. A woman that knows how to take care of herself, yet would prefer to take care of me in ways I wouldn't think while accepting me taking care of her in ways she would never expect.* Damn,, what an awesome thought even to this day...

For what's its worth, he has improved my life in ways I could never imagine, yet the one I find the most impressive is his ability to laugh at the fact that those who do not understand our dynamic (which say *I* will work my ass off to make HIS life better) think *I* am the the one who decides things...

they all pale when I think of the last words said to Me by My belovid.
He said dont die with Me.
and I dident for Him.
and He knew I would.
