A profound image from Isaac Condal. Originally the artist thought this would help express the demanding of local campaigns in the area. Yet, the audience interpreted it to mean "Politicians debating about Climate Change" SOURCE 1 I look at the image and it says to me "This is how Republicans and Tea Partiers deny Climate Change; to ignore its existence even after the process has gotten bad for America". Even if they were drowning, they would STILL deny the scientific understandings. No excuses they and their supports can muster can dodge, evade, or even challenge the understandings of science. Because the GOP/TP are composed of two groups of individuals: A ) The Ignorant and Uneducated. B ) Those Profiting off the Tragedies of Our Time. If your against the Theory of Climate Change and your not 'rolling in the money to your bank account', your part of group A. I know trying to explain this stuff is a lost cause on group A, but try, try try, I will. Let's start with The Basics. Then move up to The Next Level. After which we can observe The Change of Temperatures on a Global Scale thanks to NASA. And listen to the actual scientists. If the ice and snow were to melt from Greenland, the oceans of the world would rise about twenty feet. From observing the video in "The Basics", how much more damage could be created with an additional 20 feet of water for hurricanes to draw power from? The Himalayas could add as much as 60 feet. Now we are working with 80 feet (given that Greenland is at a much lower altitude then the Himalayas). How damaging and powerful (not to mention reach) will those storms become? Likewise, as the water rises, it removes land area for which all land based creatures (including humans) exist upon. What happens? Those creatures move inland. Condensing with all those creatures already existing in those areas. Now we have less space for everything. Meanwhile the middle parts of the nation (for the USA) become more arid and with less clean water being close by (think Southern California's problems on a national level as it relates to fresh water issues). But we haven't gotten to the interesting stuff yet.... All this time, we are adding more humans to the planet. Right now there is 'alittle' over 7.2 Billion humans. And that number is rising. On July 4, 2015 the USA population was 321,216,397. As of this writing (9/20/15 @ 1:58PM) its 321, 787, 396. We have added 570,099 humans in that time. Barring a serious natural or man-made disaster (i.e. nuclear strikes, releasing Ebola on the world, etc...), how big will the population be in just ten years? So we have Climate Change taking place. Verified, tested, and retested by many hundreds of thousands of scientists whom have studied their work for years if not decades. There exists more of an understanding of not just this concept but its effects, then all the information currently known about the three major religions on this planet.....COMBINED! What do the humans do, when there is less of something that people feel they need to not just survive, but grow? WAR. Yes, people will fight each other over scraps that shrink with every passing day and year; rather than work together to find solutions to problems. This is what the deniers unwittingly want for not just America but for the rest of the world. We've had this thread topic come up many times over the years. Each time it is the same. The educated side with Science, the ignorant side with those profiting off their pain and suffering, never knowing they are made fools in the process. The evidence is undeniable. Climate Change is taking place. Mankind has created this problem. And we should do many things about it. Those deniers should be placed on land masses that are only a few feet above sea level. Like some of the islands in the Philippines. If Climate Change is just a hoax, they should have nothing to worry about, right? Why do we give the deniers a 'say' in our politics? They clearly have nothing productive to give to the discussions. Nor seem to care what happens to the nation in the short or long term. They don't seem to care about anyone beyond themselves. They want to see war on our own soil so badly! They dont want to think beyond fifteen to twenty years since most of them will be dead from old age. But they know it, and realize it. The scientists are correct once more. The Theory of Climate Change is not 'just a guess' but a sound understanding (or as things are 'sound' when a scientific theory are understood) of information currently known to mankind. An that we should follow their recommendations given the situation and information known.
