Daily Mail story the center of which is Chris Penner, owner of a bar formerly known as the Twilight Room Annex, or more widely the P Club, left two voicemail messages for a member of the Rose City T-Girls, a group of transgender customers that frequented the bar every Fright night starting in 2012. The messages ordered the group to stop visiting because business had declined in the 18 months since the bar became their gathering spot. Penner said people were incorrectly assuming the club was a gay or “tranny” bar. The article goes on to say that both his bar manager and his kitchen manager are gay. He had originally told them that it was ok to meet there on Friday nights. However there presence drove off his other customers so he asked them to stop coming. Apparently, in Oregon, the sanctity of being gay or trans, can put you in the possition of choosing between going out of business because they drive off the rest of your customers or because the state will "fine" you and give them the money. Unfortunatly the complete link wasn't with the story.

Suppose you own a restaurant and the hells angels (in full 'battle rattle") stop by for dinner every friday night. Never cause any problems but the rest of your customers tell you they are frightened of these "thugs" and will eat elsewhere. What are you going to do?

FR How can this possibly be considered discrimination? If anyone else was driving the rest of his business off wouldn't he have the right to ask them not to come back. His bar manager is transgendred, that doesn't speak of discrimination. His kitchen manager is transgendered , again clearly not a flaming bigot. When they checked with him he said no problem, not the act of a bigot. They met there for a year and a half, and people started staying away because they thought it had become a gay/tg bar. He made a discision based on business reality, not bias. If anyone else had been running his business off noone would have any problem with his actions even if it were something like people staying off in the corner holding a quiet prayer meeting (I say this because religion is also a protected group). If it was anything but lgtb the left would see that he just made a business descision. How many said that the baker would go out of business because nobody would go to someone who discriminated. That business reality should stop them. But now since he is losing the rest of his business he should just settle for just the business the Gem City tgirls provide. Go out of business or we will put you out of business. Again the law is dishonest, if the money goes to the offended parties it is not a fine, it is the govenment handleing a person injury lawsuit stacking the odds so one side win. I think I will move to Oregon, claim to be gay and look for an excuse to be offended, solves all of my finacial problems.

Good thing nobody from BLM came by they would have claimed it meant no blacks.

And the attitude from these clubs is "If I'm not good enough to come in when I have my patch on....I won't come in when I don't have my patch on" So, motorcycle riders avoid those establishments. (There's actually a list on the internet) One of those establishments was chosen as an end spot for a charity ride and they wouldn't let any of the participants that had a patch into the restaurant. So, this year a different restaurant is going to get those 200 riders. In the case of the sign - establishments here will tell you that the Sheriffs Department told them to put up the signs. But, since it's just two establishments out of around 100...I tend to think that's the out they were given.

About a year ago our legislature passed a law allowing businesses to ban open carry in the stores. One chain put up signs that you couldn't carry open or concealed or in your car on the lot. Of course you couldn't see the sign until you got to the door. They used the no open carry law as an excuse. I haven't been there since. They have the right to do it but I have the right to not do business there. Ironically of the half dozen gas stations on main street they are the only one to be held up in the last year.

The hells angels are not really part of the "you meet the nicest people on a honda" crowd. My point was that thirty or forty years ago they would have just leveled the place. Now they send in suits. The sherrif says a lot of shit that is not true...witness the doj report on fergustan. Like folks putting up signs saying they can refuse service to anyone...just lookin to get their dumb asses sued.
