I'm Catholic, and stiffing the POPE is a big deal.

Here's a big deal...

On Thursday, September 24, in the afternoon after his historic address to Congress, just a few minutes before flying to New York City, Pope Francis received, spoke with, and embraced Kim Davis — the Kentucky County Clerk who was jailed in early September for refusing to sign the marriage licenses of homosexual couples who wished to have their civil marriages certified by the state of Kentucky... "I had been told it would be okay to hug him. So I hugged him, and he hugged me back. It was an extraordinary moment. ‘Stay strong,’ he said to me. Then he gave me a rosary as a gift, and he gave one also to my husband, Joe. I broke into tears. I was deeply moved." ~Inside the Vatican

Amazing how that the only bit of "news" about the pope that has been discussed.... NOt his congress speech, not his UN speech, not his talking about poverty or the climate or abortion or gay marriage, NOT LGBT but kim davis.
Nice one.

Watching friends fall under Francis' spell, this veteran of a Catholic childhood warned that disappointment was likely. Even the dread Pio Nono, after all, began as a popular pope who seemed liberal. More recently, John Paul II seemed like a breath of fresh air at first, jamming with kids in Madison Square Garden. Francis has made some stylistic tweaks I applaud but the substance never really changed.

Still, not even I expected the crash to come this quickly.

I'm Catholic, and stiffing the POPE is a big deal. I can't imagine it, and it had to be deliberate avoidance.

I'm not a Catholic, and I think I would enjoy meeting the man.

An yet, three US Supreme Court Justices whom are CATHOLIC did not show up to meet the Pope.

Why not?

Maybe they were afraid the Pope would see right through their masks as agents of the Devil? The Pope suddenly taking out that Holy Avenger +5 longsword and cutting all three down?

I figured since you don't live in reality with the rest of us, this would be 'ok' for you to hear.....

I could see one of the US Supreme Court Justices not seeing the pope because he was sick or had pressing matters of his office. But all three? All three of whom have been puppets of the GOP/TP since they got their position? Whom have used their position to attack the poor, the elderly, the sick, and the weakest of Americans. Yeah, that would place them at serious odds with a guy whom seems to fight to protect such individuals.

Maybe we should waterboard all three? According to the GOP/TP, waterboarding is not torture but useful 'interrogation techniques' that have 'no lasting or long term effects on the human mind'.
