It depends entirely upon which wifi protocol you use. You need at least 802.11ac if you want the relationship to be successful.

While I must agree wholeheartedly with Stef who gave you the best advice yet, I'd add that ac 2x2 (or even 4x4) is probably better than 1x1, simply because your performance will be greater, and as a bonus, your protocol negotiation will be more reliable.

BTW, ac alone won't exist because, in order to meet "ac" protocol specs, you will need to also do "a", and, then you need, for compatibility, to also be b/g/n, so keep that in mind as a critical compatibility issue when forming any relationships online.

In summary, and agreeing with Stef, 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac will always be your best bet for the most successful online relationships.

802.11 a ==> 5GHz only
802.11 b ==> 2.4GHz only
802.11 g ==> 2.4GHz only
802.11 n ==> 2.4GHz or 5GHz or both
802.11 ac ==> 5GHz only

If you want it to be effective, you need to get to know each other as you would in person. Then, it can be a worthwhile experience. It is different than real life contact. Some people actually prefer it for various reasons, but for many it is seen as less than or even fake. Yet you are interacting with another person rather than within your own fantasies. Your reactions are real; you will learn about yourself.

However, what does she get out of it? She doesn't get a friend to go to the movies with. She doesn't get to top anyone. She doesn't get her dishes done. Hell, she doesn't even get dinner.
