ShaharThorne -> October Roll Call!!! (10/2/2015 3:31:22 AM)

Its that time of year for pumpkin lattes, raking leaves and getting out the winter wardrobe...and such a beautiful moon for those who got to see it!

Sorry for being a day late but I was not really up to snuff and had a busy day. Being sick (Thanks Mom!!!) was not wanted in my book.

Well, for a while I have been having some trouble with my Depokate. It was making me maniac to where I was staying up 24 to 48 hours at a time...got a bunch of crochet work done. Also been in cleaning sprees so my closet is straighten up. I finally got to see someone at MHMR yesterday and we are going to taper me of the stuff and switch to possibly Topamax. I sure hope so.

I also have been having shoulder trouble. Should get an MRI done soon and I let y'all know what the results are.

Fair weekend...neighbor has 2 goats and a sheep in the show so we will find out later how he does. I did pretty good this year...2 blues for a couple of items, with a Best in Class for one of them. Will post pics when I get them back home.

Monday, getting a tooth or 2 pulled. Now that my insurance has kicked in, it would be easier on me.

Catch everyone later...my desk looks like Berlin in '45 and we have to go grocery shopping later.

NookieNotes -> RE: October Roll Call!!! (10/2/2015 10:09:26 AM)

AH! October. Damn, September went by fast.

Had a great time at the FemDom retreat in the Outer Banks.

Took on a new, very large, complex project. Getting a lot of pushback from the natives, but I'm feeling my way around. Could work out to be incredibly valuable.

Working on a new book, "How To Find A FemDom," a sort of co-authorship with a friend who wrote one, and I didn't want to tresspass, so I'm rewriting with some of the research done for me. I think it'll be pretty damn good.

It's been raining for a week. Sick of it.

Met a VERY sweet sub. Liked him instantly. He's disappeared. Damn.

Not like I need another. Still have Pet and my playmates, but... damn. *sighs* It felt like a really good fit. And HOT! Damn.

SDFemDom4cuck -> RE: October Roll Call!!! (10/2/2015 2:23:36 PM)

It's been ages since I've posted here for personal reasons but things seem to have undergone an upheaval or two since my prolific posting days, so I decided to wander in again and start posting more in the boards. Fall seems to have hit here in PA and it cooled off quickly the last few days! Looking forward to the fall foliage after my many years in Sunny San Diego.

I've been communicating with someone for about a month now and it is starting to look pretty positive! Fingers crossed that there isn't a poof on the horizon. It started on completely the wrong foot and then I'm not quite sure what happened. So far so good though!

I have gotten back into crocheting as well Shaharthorn. Made some amigurumi toys for each of the grands matching their Nick names. Started a huge project of a thread crotchet cannopy for my bed. Now I am beginning to wonder what the hell I was thinking when I started it! The motifs are about 3" x3" and I plan for it to come down to the floor at each of the corner posts. Gah!!!!!

October is not my favorite month, a lot of anniversaries and birthdays this month of people that have passed. The last two weeks are going to be especially hard but I'll get through it like I always do. Here's hoping for a great end of 15 and an amazing 2016 for us all! Looking forward to participating more here and on other boards.

TNDommeK -> RE: October Roll Call!!! (10/2/2015 2:24:02 PM)

We will be headed to new orleans this halloween for the ball. Its super amazing. We havent gotten decor for the house yet but we will when we get back from Arkansas on monday.
I hope everyones month is great!

CynthiaWVirginia -> RE: October Roll Call!!! (10/4/2015 12:43:00 AM)

This is going to be my favorite month.

It's been chilly and I'm so glad the hot summer is behind us (I just wish the almost daily rain would give us a break too). Soon I'm going to make my son hunt down the stored tubs of Halloween decorations and this house is going to look like the Halloween decorations area of both Walmart and Sears blew up in my home. [:D]

Last year had been so stressful with surgeries, etc., that my son and I hadn't decorated. Months ago...I bought myself a 4 ft. tall Halloween tree. M'kay, two of them, sorta. One is black and one is white and I dunno which one I'll like ghosties and black kitties on more. I even have purple lights for the black one, and I'm thinking of maybe orange lights for the white one. The momma kitty I took in from my ex's basement...she and her babies have never had the joy of swiping things from "trees" yet. I just hope that they will be satisfied with denuding a smaller tree at Christmas time and will leave the bigger one alone (I still have pix from years ago when my mom's cat taught our two sweet little angels how to climb up the inside of a six ft. tall Christmas tree and make the branches bend down and all the lights and stuff slide off onto the floor).

I've let several groups of adults know that if they show up at my house for Halloween, as long as they are dressed up in costume I'll give out full sized candy bars. Am hoping to see more costumes this year.

Last year I was promised something for Christmas and thanked him months in advance for it. Repeatedly. Instead his head got full of NRE and he used the money to buy a Singer Featherweight for someone else. Anyway, long story short...I was walking in Walmart the other day (alright, riding an electric cart) when I passed by it. Feeling the loss of many broken promises all over again, I started to turn away...and then I overheard someone saying that Walmart is allowing for layaways during this holiday season as long as it's out of layaway by Dec. 14th. So I'm taking back my happy memory, all those times I dreamed of having that cart in my kitchen, retrieving it from the bad that followed...by writing a new happy memory on top of it. Yes, I had my son heft the box into a cart and we rode over to layaway and soon it will be MINE. It's a granite topped kitchen cart thingy that will allow me to prepare food again in my own kitchen, rather than at a small wobbly tray table in front of the couch. I already have a chair on wheels in the kitchen, and the cart will be low enough so I can sit at it and get busy again.

There's a huge amount of cook books in this house (four shelves full) and there's soon going to be no reason to simply cook meat and heat up some veggies. By next year I want to be making cranberry apple pie, raisin bread, my own spinach or tomato pasta, and yogurt cheese again. I haven't used that recipe for tamale pie in so many years...time is passing me by and I'm letting my life get too boring and predictable.

I'm going through old stationery to see what I can donate to a nearby nursing home, as well as my hoard of gift wrapping. There's clothes I've been collecting to donate but I have to wash them again (cat fur gets everywhere) before I can put them into the box. Tonight I'm going to make myself get another chore done, that of going through two boxes I've been adding to for months that are full of mostly movies, a new pair of shoes, and stuff I've forgotten. I had divided them up into two packages to donate but then things came up and I've delayed handling this. I've also had to buy two new large plastic tubs to cat proof these storage bins as I collect things in them and donate stuff out of my house. We were shopping at Ollie's the other day when I saw a 20 pack of movies from the 1980's for only $6.99...I snagged one for us and one for a particular nursing home. (I don't go to church and this is how I "tithe", by buying things when I can and donating them where they're needed.)

I try to buy well recognized movies most of the time, and am especially fond of finding those 2-20 movie bundles at Walmart in the bargain bin for just $5. Another that I bought was a three pack; Ernest Goes to Camp, Ernest Scared Stupid, and Ernest Goes to Jail.

Roses had a sale on DVD players, $19.99 each. Yes, I got myself some of that. [sm=yahoo.gif]

LadyBerry -> RE: October Roll Call!!! (10/4/2015 12:51:40 PM)

With all of the yarn enthusiasts here, does anyone else have Ravelry accounts? I just realized I never looked to see if there were any BDSM groups on Rav, but I'm sure there must be some.

I'm moving in the middle of the month. It's only a cross-town move, but with the fall term just starting it's very stressful. Also I seem to have completely forgotten how to do basic things from gen chem over the summer, like finding oxidation states and formal charges. It'll come back, but getting my head back into Student Mode from Summer Mode is proving difficult.

It's been a very dry September going into October for the PNW so far - I wish we could take some of the East's rain off their hands!

Fall baking is also in full swing - with the move I'll be renting a room from a coworker which means I need to use up a lot of my food so it will fit in my spot in the kitchen. So much sweet bread. And bagels.

SDFemDom4cuck -> RE: October Roll Call!!! (10/4/2015 3:41:22 PM)

Awesome job @ShaharThorne! Congratulations! I just finished a 12" amigurumi moose for my youngest grand and have the middle one's annual Christmas cardigan almost finished. I try to send a sweater or funny hat and scarf along with books every year for their Christmas. Sometimes I think it would be less expensive to just buy a sweater but I think it means more to make them!

LadyBerry I do have a Ravelry account. I don't know about a BDSM group there but I do know that the other kink site that shall go unnamed has several crochet groups! If you want to message Me on the other side I can send you a few names of groups to join over there. One even does crochet along projects and encourages project donations for specific charities like making cocoons and hats for your local hospital NICU or making afghans and beanies for your local Cancer Treatment center. For awhile I was part of a local group of ladies (non kink) that kept the Pediatric unit, The Hospice unit and the Senior unit supplied in lapghans so that every patient received one when they were admitted and then took home with them at release.

LadyBerry -> RE: October Roll Call!!! (10/4/2015 5:55:24 PM)

Any bicraftual groups? Knitting is my big passion right now, but I do crochet on occasion... mostly Tunisian afghans with embroidery on them.

I actually sent you a pm earlier today. Might be in your bulk mail. There are some knittinggroups over there as well!

ShaharThorne -> RE: October Roll Call!!! (10/5/2015 2:02:25 AM)

I am on Ravelry as well...just need to remember to stay signed in. That is where I got the pattern for the green afghan at (I want to show the designer my ribbons). Right now I got 3 different baby afghans that I am working on, making it really fun when I get bored with one WIP, I can just switch to another one with no problem.

Lucylastic -> RE: October Roll Call!!! (10/5/2015 3:17:15 AM)

I cant knit or crochet, sighs, but I thought I would say hello to all the ladies n gents for the roll call.
September...what a strange month!!!!
I have to go back into august to pick up, but my daughter is finally back from living and studying in the UK for 8 month. OMG shes almost 30 but I had missed her soooo much. Im so happy to have her home in the same city. APart from flying thru her course which means she can graduate with her two degrees this year, She also met, spent time with my family, cousins, aunts, uncles that she hadnt seen since she was two. Some she had never met before at all. I have a feeling she may move back to the UK when she has finished uni. Of course it has made me homesick for england, but as I remember it.. And we all know the world has changed since the 80s. But still its made me yearn to go back for a visit soon.

My pet and I split up at the very end of august. 18 years...pft gone. I will never do a long distance again:) But, my god I had a good time, I regret its over, but you have to know when its time to just drop roll and run.

Business wise, things are looking up. but its still a lil scary, I was told that the supplier was changing, and 350 new corsets were going to be removed and five new patterns introduced, but they didnt tell me which corsets were out and which were in. When they finally announced them, they added that old corsets would only be available for another week.
PANIC stations, Ive spent the last six weeks with my nose to the monitor for 16 hours a day to get the corsets changed over. But its caused chaos for ordering, halloween is our busiest time of the year, and I still havent received a shipment of 48 inch corsets, I ordered two weeks ago, shit Im going nuts. (ok nuttier)

Of course now part of me wants to start socializing at munches and events again locally, find a play partner perhaps, but another part of me says, no...rebound, too soon, blech. I need to stay focused. My hubby has said do it, enjoy the scene(I always did love everything but the backstabbing ) But the business and him are my priority right now, we have had a rough year one way or another and have come out of it stronger. Damn he is a good man:)

we dont have much planned except work. ALtho I do love october, I tend to decorate some in the house, but now its just my office.
We have Thanksgiving next week, but it will only be five of us this year.

I hope everyone has a good month, those of you suffering, Im sending virtual hugs, good luck to those who need it and take care of your loved ones:)

SDFemDom4cuck -> RE: October Roll Call!!! (10/5/2015 3:39:58 AM)

@Lucylastic there are some great how to's on YouTube that will teach you how to do either. I learned amigurumi via youtube. They will walk you through making it stitch by stitch. Try Crochet Crowd. That guy is amazing at teaching crochet and he has a lot of project how to's!

I am sorry to hear about your sub.

Lucylastic -> RE: October Roll Call!!! (10/5/2015 3:48:08 AM)

THankyou:)
I will look it up thanks, altho I have a bunch of crafting stuff I need to get to as well, just not enough time in the day:)
My mum knits, she was awesome, but i didnt pick up the gene:(

SDFemDom4cuck -> RE: October Roll Call!!! (10/5/2015 3:49:36 AM)

No problem! Enjoy!

Found your message. :) I will have to explore on FL more when I have a chance - I pretty much just use it to keep abreast of local parties and munches.

I usually have a few going as well - right now my "involved" project is Damask by Kitman Figueroa - a lovely fingering weight lace shawl. I also always have a plain vanilla sock OTN that I can carry with me. During the school year I spend a lot of time on the bus, knitting and listening to podcasts. :) I have one of the drawstring pouches that can clip to a belt loop, and I've gotten pretty good at walking and knitting with it.

Now that my Auntie B has passed I have not gotten too into knitting. She taught me crochet but I kind of wrote off knitting without her being able to advise and show me how. I did some research since the previous posts and evidently YouTube is my friend when it comes to kñitting how to's. Omg I made a deal with myself....no knitting needles until the last few projects are done! Now if I could figure out how to post a photo or two I'll try to post a couple of the thread crochet pattern I am working on for the canopy.

Brought a new camera and Mom is pissed but she loves the quality of the pictures now.
