It is looking more and more like invading / destabilizing a far off, distant nation -- and then instituting regime change and "training" of a new army is a bad, unworkable idea.

See: Afghanistan & IRAQ

Even in Vietnam, where the USA had foothold in the South, the USA could not prevail.

^^^ The above is even more true when proxies work to undermine the US plan [Pakistan in Afghanistan, Iran in IRAQ, and the USSR in Vietnam.]

Airstrike Hits Doctors Without Borders Hospital in Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan — At least 19 people were killed when a hospital run by Doctors Without Borders in Kunduz was badly damaged early Saturday after being hit by what appears to have been an American airstrike, sparking international outrage.

The worst thing about the Airstrike is that the US and Afghans new of the exact GPS of the hospital, and were even informed of this by MSF while the attacks were taking place. This wasnt one stray bomb but a series of bombings.

Also was it area or pinpoint bombing. Either way it isn't an excuse but would explain more.

What exactly would it explane?

I had to turn the news off today in the CAR after hearing about this and the details of the Oregon shooting. Couldn't take it.

In area bombing they are dumb bombs. They strike a wide swath. During Nam they called it carpet bombing. If directed at a specific target the probability of huge collaterol damage is great.

Pinpoint bombs can be aimed and unless something go wrong hit within 3 meters of their target most of the time.

It was a repeated pinpoint bombing of the same smallish target.
