Cannot change from 'Text List' to 'Photo List' (Full Version)

Hi there,
I have a problem doing what is described be low (pasted from the FAQ).

How do I switch between seeing usernames or phtotos on the homepage?
Find the 'List As' selector in the lower left corner of the grey box in the middle of the homepage and change it to 'Text List' to see a list of usernames, 'Photo List' to see small photos next to each username, or 'Photo Grid' to see only a small photo for each user and then press the 'Search' button on the right side of the same grey box.

Under "List as" I only have the "Text List" option. Other people experiencing this? I have tried several browsers, but I cannot go back to the picture view I used to have.

We're doing some work on our database to improve site functions. However, when one thing is worked on, it can slow others down. Photo view is high on the priority list, but behind the things that actually keep the site running for everyone.

Nice to see that something is being worked on..... at last.

Would that also include the photo uploading for the forums too?
See my musings in the test thread. I'm sure it's a very simple problem to fix.

It's all a prioritized list.

Our first priority was speeding the site back up to a useable pace. Check.

Now, onto other things. :)

I don't mind the administrative staff putting the ancilliary photo view on the back burner if the more important things, e.g., site security, are being worked on instead.

I, for one, would hope that EVERYONE would vote for site security improvements, given what we know about the news, and given how important our personal information is, to us.

The FIRST thing I'd ask the site admins to add is basic https encryption.

Given how sensitive our data is, it's q no brainer, and comes far ahead of a photo view list in priority importance.

(I'm sure the site owners have a HUGE list of suggested improvements - so all I'd ask is that security and privacy be in the MUST list while the photo list can go into the SHOULD or even COULD bins).

Kinda consider the inability to see profile photos in the list as a site improvement [:D]

I never use ANY of the photo features, so, I fully agree with you.

What I think people do is run searches based on photos, which, if you think about it, is like choosing your math teacher or accountant by how pretty she is.

Let's not even mention the scammers have professionally pretty photos galore, so, by choosing by photo, you're really just aiming for scam.

In addition, I think most of these photo shoppers have their search set as wide as the diameter of the earth will allow, so even with a filter of, say, 18 to 28 years of age and under 120 pounds, they'll STILL get zillions of hits, which they then dutifully spam themselves, and, in the end, they're utterly shocked that nobody they spammed wants them; they just want, of all things, their money.

Priorities are right now focused on things that actually make the site run better, keep activity up, and reduce customer service load.
