Does it seem like CM and FL have a batman/bruce thing going on to anyone else? CM has the old hands and lots of longtime hobbyists in street clothes. FL has premier dungeons and lifestylers wielding fancy equipment. There's so much overlap in the userbase that it's tough to tell which "side" contains the periphery demographic. I'm thinking more of the profile engine than the discussions.

CM predates Fet, by a lot.

And they have different purposes.

CM is a dating site with social aspects.
Fet a social site specifically designed so that it can't easily be used as a dating site.

Ummm... No.

Back before there was a Fet, some of those folks with the dungeons and equipment actually were here. Seven (?) years ago, you'd have seen a lot of those same folks right here.

I know that the purposes and charters are different. I reference batman because the same people who basically built FL reside on the collarspace/collarme forums. The conversations still seem more human on this side, perhaps because people just discuss anything adhoc.

Really? Baku's got an account here? News to me.

I don't know any of the members of the design team. It's possible you are right. Of the CareBears that I personally know, none of them were members of CM. One was, however, a member of Alt.

Of greeters/welcome wagon folks, I only know one that was a member here and he was one of the worst trolls this site has ever seen. As soon as folks from here started transferring over, he wasn't a greeter long. There may have been others because a lot of people volunteered to do that over the years.

The engineering firm that was recently contracted to do upgrades? Those are actually not kinky folks.

Experienced kinksters are content on FL. They're just people on CM.

I'm not sure what you are meaning by this. Would you care to expand?

A lot of experienced kink folks split this site. There really was a serious mass exodus around here. I know a lot of people (and I mean the face to face kind of know) that took off for Fet as soon as the option became available.

Fetlife is polished and comercial by comparison to collarspace. That's the basic idea.

Aside from the large migration, there are a lot of people who still frequent both sites. They can stay here and be kinky sometimes or "dress up" and go on Fetlife. The people here are the community that gave rise to showcasing kink in the processed way that FL tends to. Kink stays kink dispite that.

Some are on both. Not as many now as there used to be but you can figure out who is who just by posts.

It's kind of funny when you say "dress up" and I'm the other person responding. It's ok. You'll get to know me.

Hillwilliam -> RE: Not sure if this is the right place, but (10/6/2015 5:03:56 PM)

I'm on both and what do you call "Experienced"?

I've been doing this stuff off n on since about 81 and RS makes me look like a noob.

Fet definitely is more polished and spiffy; it could hardly be less.

But that black background and white type are awfully hard on my eyes, and I infinitely prefer the simplicity of the navigation here. And posting on Fet always makes me miss the Edit button!

Re your analogy, it might be more like Batman (FL) and Aunt Harriet (CS). [:)]

DesFIP -> RE: Not sure if this is the right place, but (10/6/2015 9:09:18 PM)

I'm on both but I don't 'dress up' my experience to seem more than I am.
