After talking with several different people, from all "walks" of life, I thought I'd put the question to those of you here.

Can you fall in love with someone you have never been sexually intimate with?

And I'm not talking about a brotherly/sisterly kind of love. Or the kind you have for dear friends. Or a crush. I'm talking about the same feelings you have with someone you have been intimate with.

Thank you for your time,

Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes!

This is what happened with my partner. I was dating somoene else when I met him. I was not even partially sexual with him for another year and a half after that. Still, I started to fall in love with him about 2 weeks after we met.

I didn't voice my romantic interest for at least a year. (He was in a relationship long after I got out of mine, and I'm a pretty big believer in not messing around with other people's relationships, even if I -am- in love with one party :) )

Long before we were ever together romantically, I feel that I was in love with him as I am now. At the time, it was horrible, because I had no idea if he felt the same way, or if he ever would.

Dunno if this is the answer you want, because we eventually became sexually intimate, still, it was -long- after I knew I loved him.

Definately. Hubby and i weren't intimate until our wedding night, believe it or not, and He was a virgin.

Yes, it is possible, but it can cause some problems at times. I fell in love with one of my guy friends a few years ago. He got married this past summer and I felt as though I was being ripped to pieces, I really couldn't stand seeing him with another person. This seems strange, but it really hurt to think of him with someone other then me.

It's absolutely possible, though less common these days because so many folks (myself included) really happen to like sex. LOL

It doesn't have to be a "brotherly" love to be real and not the I want to live with you forever type thing. We give easy lip service to the word. But for me it will always be an action verb. So no, I cannot be IN love with someone I have not seen a demonstration of that love. Which of course does not mean exclusively intercourse, but the holding and the seduction of my mind if not my body. Intimacy is essential for love to grow. Sundew

Been there, done that, and if he wasn't 100% heterosexual, we'd be married by now. (Why is it the only guys I've known worth a tumble in bed have all been straight? I guess I just gotta go to more queer events, eh?)
