notaBULL -> And God said, Let there be Dildos (10/15/2015 10:31:35 AM)

I always wanted to ask this question to Ladies.

We see more and more Ladies using dildos in videos and sales have increased over the past 10 years, hence Ladies are not simply using it for porn productions.

What I would like to know is this:

Can a Lady be totally satisfied with such a plastic friend?

Is the dildo experience close to the real thing?

I mean one would think that a penis, warm and made of flesh must give better results than plastic, no?

crumpets -> RE: And God said, Let there be Dildos (10/15/2015 11:56:53 AM)

It's never what you think with women because they're more complicated than we are, even with the use of simple tools.

They actually use the double-pointed ones as potholders in the kitchen, and the curved ones serve as hand hoes in the garden.

I've often had the straight ones shoved in my mouth to shut me up when I talked too much.

NookieNotes -> RE: And God said, Let there be Dildos (10/15/2015 12:18:06 PM)

We want a penis attached to someone we really like more than a dildo.

We want a dildo/vibe more than any penis attached to someone we don't like.

So, a good vibe is a better option than a bad man.

Where did you find your statistics? What percentage of porn videos in 2005 showed a woman using a dildo versus the percentage in 2015? I want to make sure you are just not stating an opinion and trying to make it seem like a fact. What were the dildo sales in 2005? What are dildo sales now? How many of those dildos were sold for use by a man on himself versus a woman?

edited to make it clearer

This.

It all depends on what kind of guy is attached to the actual penis available.

I think a lot of women would agree with the above.

However, to be entertaining, for some reason, this thread makes me want to find a youtube bit of Betty White talking about dildos.

Doc Johnson, based in North Hollywood, CA, is on of the leading sex products suppliers. According to a feature piece in Los Angeles Magazine, it's the "Procter & Gamble of sex toys.” It claims, “each month the company pours 125 tons of rubber, manufacturing 330,000 dildos, vibrators, and synthetic buttocks.” The article estimates that the company generates over $100 million in sales through brick-and-mortar and online retailers like Hustler Hollywood, Adam & Eve and Amazon.

Fantastic!! Doc Johnson uses a lot of rubber making dildos, vibrators, and asses. As far as comparing sales of such products the article only says that they are increasing. The increase is attributed to people not having to go into an adult store to buy the items as they can be purchased online. Nowhere does it say that the items are purchased by females for their own use rather than by males for their own use. Nowhere does your article compare dildo use in videos 10 years ago to dildo use in videos today.

I will agree with you. There is an increasing market for sex toys. However, that is as far as I will agree. You have no statistics for videos and theoretically the increase in dildo purchases could be that so many men are exploring their bisexuality rather than women using the toys.

I also agree with some of the other posters. NookieNotes said it well, "So, a good vibe is a better option than a bad man."

This thread is not about statistics, make your own research and you will see that I am right. It is not about men using dildos as well, I could not care less about men who have a thing for dildos. This thread is asking Ladies the difference between plastic and flesh.

Come on guys, I know you all have ADD, but a little effort to stay focused would be appreciated.

Wait one darn minute. YOU made this about statistics when YOU wrote "We see more and more Ladies using dildos in videos and sales have increased over the past 10 years." YOU said more and more and increased, not me so you had to have already done the research You did provide me with one article that said there was an increase in sales. That was good. However, as I stated the increased sales might be because men are buying more toys and not women. Excuse me...would that ruin what you are attempting to say here is fact if men were the reason for the increase? Why should I go research these statistics? You said it, you must have the numbers. You must have gotten your information from somewhere. Please do share. Oh, of course, this all could be based on your own personal opinion having watched a great deal of porn videos over the past 10 years.

So is it a fact that "We see more and more Ladies using dildos in videos and sales have increased over the past 10 years, hence Ladies are not simply using it for porn productions."? Or is this just another one of your opinions? That is all I am asking.

You make a statement that isn't backed up by anything.

That's what folks are asking you to back up.

Anyway, with or without that backup, the ladies answered the main question.

But, their answer would have been exactly the same, with or without that quoted statement above, whether or not it's actually true.

No I did not make this about statistics by providing that information it is still about flesh and plastic. Boy, you guys would get demolished in a courtroom. They would tell you, stick to the question.

Some may. Ask any man with an f-doll or one of those fake vaginas the same question, and you'll probably get the same types of answers.
There are people who get attached to inanimate objects, and it becomes a fetish object for them. Other people are not similarly inclined.

This Lady? No likelihood whatsoever. Also, are you are referring to dildos as dildos per se, or specifically dildo-vibrators? Both kinds get used with a strap-on.

I don't use dildos. I don't even use a vibrator. Not on myself, that is.

Is the dildo experience close to the real thing?

Neither a dildo nor a vibrator come close to the real thing. Most phallic objects attached to a living, breathing man. . . don't come close to the "real thing" for me. I'm picky that way.

ORIGINAL: notaBULL
I mean one would think that a penis, warm and made of flesh must give better results than plastic, no?

Let me give you an analogy of sorts based on my above remark.

1. I would rather be alone or just have platonic (non-sexual, not the Friend w/benefits version) friendships with men, than be with a man who isn't the right partner for me.

2. Hence, I would rather be with a submissive male than settle for a non-submissive sex partner, including dating a confirmed vanilla man or one who turns out to be a kink-crazed horndog. Been there, done that, not looking forward to it again.

3. Given the option of using a dildo/vibrator instead of the "real thing," I can manage just fine without needing phallic substitutes, given that Items 1 & 2 have not been met to my satisfaction.

4. To rephrase, Item 1 (being with the right man) & Item 2 (sharing profound compatibility with a submissive man as my partner) are higher priorities to me, knowing that I can always have access to Item 3 (whether they be the inanimate or animate variety), but choose not to exercise that option.

The fact that a number of other women do, is entirely up to them. A dildo/vibrator can certainly hold a greater appeal than a poor specimen of a man and/or a poor, unattractive specimen of a penis which is attached to such a man of undesirable characteristics. [:-]

It's funny how some men feel so threatened by sex toys.

If someone prefers a sex toy to you, you need to work out the message. Is it that "I don't like you and sex is pretty poor" in which case move on rapidly, or is it "I know we both love my teasing you with this dildo, let's have really hot sex involving more than traditional penetration" in which case hang around and enjoy the ride.

For some reason many men feel left out or unwanted. Terrible news for some men's egos - women may not want you and may have penis alternatives.

As a man, I have a vagina alternative in the shape of my hand. It does just fine when required, but real life interaction with another human being can be (but is not always guaranteed to be) so much better. My hand is however an acceptable backup and orgasm support mechanism as and when required.

Given men's love of self-stimulating their external sex organs, feeling concerned about whether some women prefer the use of a plastic/silicone dildo on occasion seems to lack self-awareness, and perhaps even demonstrate a level of hypocrisy.

DesFIP -> RE: And God said, Let there be Dildos (10/15/2015 8:48:46 PM)

And if you're talking about dildos in porn, then those aren't made for women. Men buy porn. Good question though, why would men prefer to see women using a B.O.B. over having sex with other men?

Sales aren't growing because women don't want sex with their partners, but because they can buy anonymously online instead of at the local drugstore where people know them. And because we're becoming a more sex positive culture, at last.

However, the one sex partner you will have for all of your life is yourself. So you should enjoy it. Self loving.
