Typically its more me that goes away for buisness trips than my owner. When I go away I usually miss him the first night and then its a lot easier the other days as I start seeing it as a chance to enjoy the time apart. So for me the upside is that I get to meet new people, get recharged about my work/job/particular project, and get a little bit of space while thinking of my owner fondly.
