For someone living in the middle of the 'burbs on the edge of town - that's VERY creepy!!
Never had a year like that since though.

I'm in the southeast just outside the London 'burbs in the commuter belt.
That's the scary thing about it.
There's usually no end of kids playing, cars driving through, rent-a-gob over the road always shouting obsceneties at other neighbours, etc etc etc. All the usual crap you'd expect when living on a council estate of about 7,000 scrunched up houses where you can't swing a mouse.
Usually, it's hard to find peace and quiet.
So when you have an evening of near silence and no activity, that's as scary as fuck.
