What mottos do you live by as best you can?  List as many as necessary.

SavageFaerie -> RE: Mottos (7/17/2006 10:21:50 PM)

DO not go check the mail in you barefeet when temps are up close to 100 degrees.

VandalHeart -> RE: Mottos (7/17/2006 10:26:21 PM)

Try everything twice, on the offchance you got it wrong the first time.

May I never be complete.  May I never be content.

enigmabrat -> RE: Mottos (7/17/2006 10:27:32 PM)

Sing like no one is listening
dance like no one is watching
and love like you have never been hurt

Make visible what, without you may have never been seen

it is better to have something to remeber then nothing to regret

dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you will die tomarow

be yourself because those that matter dont mind and those that mind dont matter

try to bring out the good not critisize that bad

if you want the rainbow you have to put up with the rain

you can not descover new oceans unless you have the curage to lose sight of the shore

sometimes there are no next times no time outs no secent chances, sometimes there is just now or never

never messure the future by the past let yesterday become a memory and tomarow become a promise

happy doesnt mean everything is perfect it means youv desided to look past the imperfections

dont follow were the path may lead you instead go were there is no path and creat a trail

take risks if you win you will be happy if you lose you will be wise

if everyone is thinking alike someone isnt thinking

love begins with a smile grows with a kiss and ends with a tear

BitaTruble -> RE: Mottos (7/17/2006 10:35:57 PM)

Use your head, trust your gut and follow your heart. When all three of those are in sync, that's a relationship worthy of pursuit. If any one of them raises a red flag, think long and hard before taking action.

You can't take steps towards the future while you've still got a foot glued to the past.

Shit happens. Deal.

Permission is better than incentive.

YMMV

There is nothing wrong with being intolerant of stupidity.

Just consider me precious, priceless and adorable. It's close enough to accurate to get us started. [8D]

.. and my latest.. is in my tag line.. Don't fuck with a menopausal sadist!

What? You never heard of a precious, priceless, adorable menopausal sadist? Where have you been hiding? [8D]

Celeste ::chuckling::

VandalHeart -> RE: Mottos (7/17/2006 10:56:09 PM)

YMMV?

Here's some more for me, all from Uncle Robert Heinlein:

A generation that ignore history has no past and no future

An armed society is a polite society

You can have peace, or you can have freedom.  Never count on having both at once.

And one more, this one from Magnolia:

I will not apologize for what I want.  I will not apologize for what I need.  I will not apologize for what I am.

BitaTruble -> RE: Mottos (7/17/2006 10:58:56 PM)

YMMV = Your mileage may vary ... meaning, you may not agree with what I say, and that's OK ... I don't agree with you either. ::laughs::

Celeste

Nice, Bita

And what do you think of mine?

enigmabrat -> RE: Mottos (7/17/2006 11:03:19 PM)

why replicate and duplicate when you can originate

SavageFaerie -> RE: Mottos (7/17/2006 11:04:38 PM)

I actually live by the motto of Audrey down below...I try to at least make someone laugh everyday.

Good artists imitate.  Great artists steal.
    --Oscar Wilde

Dissent is the highest form of patriotism in a Democracy.
    --Thomas Jefferson

The victorious general wins a battle before he goes to war.  The defeated go to war and pray for victory.
    --Sun Tzu, The Art of War

There is no getting high, monkeys, or playing god in the house.

litleone8620 -> RE: Mottos (7/17/2006 11:09:58 PM)

Shreve, you're a bad bad man. I'll have to remember that one.

That which doesn't kill you, makes you stonger.

Bluebird -> RE: Mottos (7/17/2006 11:11:26 PM)

Since everything is none other than exactly as it is, one may well just break out in laughter.  Long Chen Pa

VandalHeart -> RE: Mottos (7/17/2006 11:16:07 PM)

The way we say "I need that like I need a hole in my head," the Russians say "I need that like I need teeth in my asshole"... don't be so quick to judge.  Someday you might just want those teeth.
    --Saint Gut-Free, Guts - from Haunted by Chuck Pahlaniuk

That which does not kill us only leaves ugly scars that ache in cold winter...but others see those scars, and the wise will understand that scars are the merit badges of the true lessons life teaches.
