Missokyst -> silly question but what is a..? (11/2/2015 7:50:03 AM)

when people type out "soft smile", what does that mean to you?
IDK, I tend to full out smile, laugh lines and all, or I have a normal no expression face.
What is a soft smile?

A faintly amused grin? As opposed to full blown LOL?
Or, and much worse, it's the mating call of the "true sub" [sm=kiss.gif]

Yeah..
The reason I am asking is that one of the people I know from northern CA recently got married. As he had never been married before I was pretty doggone happy he had found someone and my reaction was a huge smile, just before I sent off my congrats. Somewhere down the line of reactions to his change of status I noticed a "soft smile" from someone. And I thought, 'what is that, regret? nostalgia? wistfulness?'
So, me being me I tried a few smiles. IDK, maybe I am just not capable of doing a soft smile because mostly they looked sarcastic.

I think of it as an insipid, insincere, half-arsed imitation of a smile.

The kind of smile that can turn a masochistic slave into a face-slapping hellion.

Hey, I just saw that SimplyMichael got married! (And the softsmiles post). Congratulated him on Fet; I don't think he comes here anymore.

yeah, long time bachelor Michael is no longer single.
His posts and updates in the last 8 months or so have shown him to be quite content.
I hope they last a long time. It is always nice to see things work out. [:D] <-big smile

"Soft smiles perfectly combine contentment, awe, and confidence in a way unharnassable by any other facial expression."

ahh... see now when I make that face it generally means the moment is ok, but not good enough to risk showing age lines.

I'm just gonna say that it's fine.....so long as there isn't an eye roll that goes with it.....
